Hey Adrenor,
everytime I draw something new I start by searching the internet for reference pictures. This applies not only to medieval buildings and clothing but also to environments, color themes, lighting setups or perspectives (and especially character poses!!).
The more reference you use and the more pictures you paint you will eventually build up a “reference library” in your head :)
