Interesting, I had thought it would have been a boss of some sorts tied to the undead invasion. I was right on the look of the item though and those stats are equally terrifying.

It’s one of the legendary items or more precisely a legendary accessory which is pretty cool. Out of curiosity I opened what I could of the game files and under legendary item files is the Emperor’s armor and helmet as well as Spoilers ahead: Davkul’s armor and mask which I think hasn’t been found yet.Davkul is mentioned in the game by the cultists “Ph’nglui mlgw’nafh Davkul R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn. Nn’nilgh’ri, nn’nglui. Sgn’wahl sll’ha ep’shogg” which has been translated by some folks as “In his house at R’lyeh, dead Davkul waits dreaming. Watch the threshold. The realm of darkness shall be upon us all.” which means it’s possibly tied to the undead invasion or something even more sinister. If it’s the set that I think it is, it’s pretty dreadful and horrific, in a good way. Can’t wait to discover its stats and effects.

All the new additions to the beta are fantastic, I’m loving the reworked undead faction and I’ve learned not to mess with the legionaries and honor guard in the early game. The orderly formations, the massive shields and pikes and the complete disregard for fear and fatigue are reasons enough but I’ll be back with some of my own. Just not spears, that was a terrible idea…
Good luck with the future of the game, it was great watching the game since its early versions and how it has shaped since then. Definitely one of the games I wouldn’t mind having an expansion for.

    Exactly:

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We plan to be in Early Access for approximately one year. During this time we’ll regularly update the game with new features and additional content. We have a roadmap for what is to come and you can read more about our progress on the Developer’s Blog at http://www.battlebrothersgame.com”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“For the full release we plan on adding a lot of mechanics, features and content both to the worldmap and tactical combat parts of the game. These will include:

    Worldmap story and progression mechanic.
Non-combat characters for your mercenary company.
    Scavenger-hunts for legendary artifacts.
A dynamic event system with atmospheric encounters and tough decisions outside of combat.
Indoor tactical combat environments, such as dungeons.
    A fully skinned UI.
More content: More enemies, terrain types, items, contracts, character backgrounds and at least one additional major enemy faction acting in the world.

Last release was in late August, since that they have been working on expanding the game map, factions and quest system but they have not yet finished all these new features which if I recall correctly should come in a few months.
As it stands I already had my money worth of fun and I’m eager to explore all the new things they are adding to the game.

    Stunning work!
Are you guys considering some more battlefield oriented uses for the new banner? With that I mean apart from the heraldry showing on the armors and shields which in itself is a great way to forge an identity for your company, I was thinking of something in the ways of a standard bearer as late game I always aim to incorporate a resolve oriented character in my company which specialises in staying alive and encouraging his comrades at arms and I would very much like to have him sport a banner of the company. It could be used in the object slot like the wardogs, as a shield or even all together sacrifice the offensive capabilities of a brother by making it two handed and as per its usefulness it could slow down the loss of resolve and mitigate its effects, provide bonuses to resolve similar to the captain(?) perk and on the downside losing your standard bearer would be a huge drop in resolve (what a terrible sight to see the symbol of your company butchered down and trampled!) making it a double edged sword, something to use wisely.

PsenBattle, exactly what I meant with variants similar to the flat topped helmet (mail or padded aventail, facemask or nasal protection, etc…) which would make a great addition to late game as right now I have most of the battle brothers sporting a flat topped helmet save for the archers and crossbowmen. Last update has a good selection of armor and light protection for the head with the scarves, hoods and the bandit variants of the nasal helmet but late game leaves you yearning for more even if it was nice to have more variants to the flat topped helmet. I’m eager to see what future updates will bring, especially with the new factions. Will they bring items specific to them?
I’ll wait for the new blogs, so far it sounds like a great improvement to the sandbox experience and I’m sure you’ll sneak in a few items ;)
    Cheers!

Fantastic game and amazing art style, it really caught my eye and had me give a try to a genre of game I rarely pay attention to and I’m glad I did. I bought very few games the last few years which did surprise some people when they noticed I had purchased a game in early access but this game has a solid foundation and a great artistic direction plus I don’t recall meeting a single bug.

Rant off and now for something more on topic, around what era do you base the weapon and armor items for the human factions? From what I know it appears to be mainly 13th to 14th century Western Europe. I’d like to know what are the prospects of seeing any italo-norman faceplates and duck-billed helmets which I thought would look splendid with the hauberks and kite shields although they are from around the 12th and 13th century. A simple curiosity, I imagine you have your planning already and are quite busy with the new landscape and cities to design and all that comes far behind in the list of priorities.

Good luck with the game and thrilled for new updates :)
