If you take a mission to protect a caravan, and get attacked several times on that same journey, the composition of caravan guards/hands (i.e. their appearance, equipment etc.) changes from battle to battle.
That is true for all enemies, allies and bystanders.
Bandit leaders?
Their equipment and even names generated on the fly just before battle.
If you reload it you can different one.
Yes. I once faced a bandit leader called Blood-Beard who didn’t have a beard. Should’ve raised a bug, I guess …
Still: would it not be possible for caravan guards/hands to be generated for an entire journey, instead of for each individual fight on the same journey?
Maybe the all their stats could be tied to a company “seed” with each unit carrying a number (1-24) that maintains their appearance regardless of losses.
That would also be good for the environment I guess, since you can currently save scum till you’re on a hill. Just base the seed on your X/Y position on the map and then proceed with the generation as is
Perhaps saving every company’s information might be a bit too slow, but I’ve got no clue.
