Screen movement options bug

I went into options and changed screen movement to scroll edge, from click and drag, when on the world map. I camped and was ambushed. I changed the options while in combat as well. Upon exiting combat, I could not break encampment without using the C short-cut key. I also could not move at all while time kept passing on the world map. Toggling the options back and forth finally allowed me to move again.

PS: I save scummed as well because orcs and night time. Not sure if that also played a role.
