Player can run away harmlessley almost always as it is for now. Direwolves, wardogs and missile opponents can hit some shots and this is all (vampires maybe too but i do not know exactly). 6 bandit raiders can just getting tired running for my perfect and laughing athletes. So, suggestion 1) Harsh. Put enemies closer and give them initiative bonus when attacking side is obvious (ambushes or long chases succseed). So you can never run away without getting intact. 2)Realistic and easy-to-implement. When running away company loosing some goods from inventory, especially heavy ones, like salt or boards. It will explain also a pause in enemy party movements after a battle.
