    Hi everyone,

really enjoyed playing the EA so far. However, since one of the more recent updates there’s a problem for me:

As pointed out here, 2nd gen Intel processors with Intel HD 3000 (i3-2370M for example) cannot run the game because of the requirement for Open GL 3.3. In theory the chip would be able to support OpenGL 3.3, but Intel won’t deliver updated drivers for Windows. Strangely enough my laptop was able to run the game prior to the UI update (I think it was the UI update).

My question: Is there any workaround for this? Start via commandline, edit the settings, force opengl 3.1, anything? Really enjoy the game, especially for a battle or two on my laptop. It would be a shame if I was restricted to my desktop computer.

Not a big deal, yes, but Intel HD 3000 is one of the more common graphic cards, I think. Maybe there’s a way to get this to run nevertheless.

Read last update change log, they wrote this

Added ‘-gl30’ command parameter for forcing the game to run on OpenGL 3.0. Try this only if your GPU doesn’t support OpenGL 3.3. No guarantees that the game will work correctly with this; the game still officially requires OpenGL 3.3 to run.

Someone else reported success on using the ‘-gl30’ command line parameter with their Intel HD Graphics 3000, should be worth a try.

Could someone help with this? I know this shouldn’t be very hard, but I’m not good with computers and struggling so I think a screenshot would help a lot. I can only run the EA version at this point :(

    • Right-click on Battle Brothers in your Steam library
    • Select ‘Properties’
    • Select ‘Set Launch Options’
    • Enter ‘-gl30’

Note that this requires you to have the most current drivers for your Intel HD Graphics 3000 in order to work.
