Okay, So Here I will outline a few things I think the game needs; and maybe suggestions of other games to look at, as a sorta ‘idea factory’ for stuff.

First off, Hello. I recently purchased the game for steam and so far, its a blast!
While I enjoy the game, I noticed that while it is in alpha, it really is bare bones; it seems the entire point so far is to collect money for better gear, rinse and repeat!

    So, here we go!

    The games!\
‘Therian Saga’ and ‘Mount and Blade’ are good idea factories for this sort of game. Both are large games, Therian Saga having a deep level of detail in gear, crafting and such; and Mount and Blade being along the line of a Mercenary game.

Now then, A few ideas of what I think is needed!

    More Merc Bands!
Right now, All I see wandering around is my band; So I was thinking, why not bands of deserters to hunt? Or Rival bands who take the same contract as you and its a race against time! Maybe group battles over the same target, and fight over who gets the ‘proof’ or head. Heck, maybe even chasing contract breakers to get the payment back!

    High stakes gambling!
Every so often, we get a random prompt for a game of dice! Well, why not let us go to a town; and maybe play a game of gambling sorts, and earn higher amounts? I’unno, Add in a bit of control maybe a card game or ‘pick one’ sort of thing.

    A base!
Give us somewhere to store stuff! Like, maybe if we get in good with a faction, or Conquer one of the many abandoned places/zones on the map, we can ‘claim’ it! Then have to either pay a ‘Lot’ Of cash to get it up and in shape, or go around buying our own repairing supplies! Then set up a road, and trade routes and deals to make a bit more cash!

    Crafting/Such things!
Okay, serious point here! Are all the weapons just iron? I mean, we could really use a sorta ‘quality’ on the items. :/ Maybe more metal materials to use ‘Bronze, Iron, Steel’ and there on. And maybe rare ‘enchantments’ on such stuff? ‘Does more slashing, less AP confused, Lighter so causes less Fatigue’ you know, general stuff! Maybe give us more of a reason to delve into dangerous places; Rare loot!

    Research!
Okay, Along with the crafting why not let us ‘recruit’ people who can research crafting recipes? You know ‘Hey I wanna improve the design of this!’ And they do! Like, refine it, lighter metal, stronger, better forged! You know, let you discover how to craft this or that and such. And make you hunt for materials and stuff. Maybe give you a reason to go a bad route, raid the supply caravans and mines!

    Non-Battle Skills!
So, this may seem silly; but it might be nice to have one fighter who can cook.. Like, Good Food Raises the Moral, Right? So why not have skills like that… ‘This guy is better at patching gear, this guy cooks a mean ham, this guy can see father away, this one can swim!’ Things to expand the non battle experience and maybe help you track and survive without visiting a town longer!

    Hunting!
Like, not monster hunting. But out in the wilds, near out of food, Oh look a deer! Hunting. They flee, you do your best to hunt them down! And get food from it! I mean, Where the angry boars at?!

    Sieges!
Come on, I wanna break into a fort with 3 people, and make my way to open the gates so my allies can rush in! Gimme a curtain wall with archers raining down arrows, gimme a better reason to use those Kite Shields!

    More Races!
I wouldn’t mind having a Goblin Ranger on my side, I mean; that Poison attack is legit. And you know, An Adult orc in full plate would be terrifying! Plus, you know… I want Dwarves, Elves, Halfings… The Good Ol’ D&D races! Or heck, Lets go Dragon Lance, Gimme dat Kinder and Lizard men!

    More Beasts!
So… where the dragons at? Where are the Bears, the kelpies, you know the scary beasts! So far… Direwolves. That’s it… So… Why not put in a contract that ‘awakens’ the scaries? I mean, Its a low powered fantasy world; ‘oh these direwolves only exist in fantasy!’ So.. why not give us a extremely hard Contract to ‘break into this ancient tomb and kill/survive these horribly strong things to find out what is down there!’ And BOOM! Rush of ancient beasts that were locked away, suddenly, town militia is in trouble, more work for you!

    Politics!
Seriously, Lemme stab nobles. I mean.. some of them, I really really want to stab. Also, Where is the king? All this talk of nobles, but no Ruler? Are we on an offshoot continent, with a bigger one coming later on? ‘So we ticked off the king and… well, we bicker a lot, us three families… so he sent us here, and told us to sort it!’

    A log!
Erm, Not the wooden one! More like, a log of rumors to keep; let me note this down, So I don’t have to buy everyone rounds repeatedly! Also, Let me mark things on the map! And ‘Auto Follower’ Its hard escorting stuff without it! They are so sloooow! D:

A way to raise base default level of relationship with a faction!
So.. Say a Town is being razed, and I save all the fools; Let the town/faction level for me be raised, like bench marked at a certain point. So they know, Hey I saved you all. Love me. And it won’t degrade below that point!

    Default Combat Unit Placement!
Let me choose who stands where! Like, really! Its hard to make a continuous shield wall if you shove a two hander in the middle of it and decide to try and make it work!

    More Combat Pets!
I want a Boar. Or Bear. Maybe more breeds of War dogs? Faster, Stronger, Sturdier! Things like that.. ‘The boar is slow, but hits hard and can break shields!’ ‘The bear is fast and hits hard, but can turn on you!’ ‘This deer runs away, but enemy war dogs chase it!’ Or you know, let us ‘train’ the wardogs to be smarter. :/ ‘Don’t go after people with shields, only target the head or body, hit and run!’

    Better Skill try!
Seriously, We get ‘1’ Perk point, per level up. Why not multiple levels of skills? And Skill focus on certain weapons? ‘Reduces AP use of skill such and such’ ‘Takes less armor damage by moving this or this way’ ‘Increases chance of hitting the head with weapon such and such’ Basic passive stuff, and actual active skills! ‘Transforms Shield Splitter into Shield Shatter!’ Such things like that.

    Barracks!
Goes back to bases, sorta. Long Campaigns drains a Merc! So.. why not let us swap out Mercs with battle fatigue, let them passive train a bit while we cycle out other mercs and go about. Maybe even have ‘warning’ of incoming attacks on the Camp/fort through spies or scouts and if you return fast enough, pincer attack on two fronts!

    Better Exploration!
Right now, its.. ‘Walk around, discover things’ Why not have it where some things need a certain level of ‘skill’ to reveal locations, Like they are hidden. Maybe find random ‘battle fields’ and scavenge for gear from bodies or save a wounded enemy and try to recruit them? Maybe ‘press’ enemies who surrender into service, or straight up haul them into the nearest town to see if they are worth anything!

Welp, I am going to play some more… Bye! Thanks for Reading!

Hello, long time forum lurker here. Just recently started to voice my thoughts and opinions.

    More Merc Bands!

Maybe group battles over the same target, and fight over who gets the ‘proof’ or head.

    Spoiler Alert: this happens.

    High stakes gambling!
Good idea, mid to late game gambling for 5 gold is a waste of time.

    A base!
This has been brought up, it’s something I personally would love to see. Give us something to work for besides just better gear. I believe this may not be something the dev’s are planning however.

    Crafting/Such things!

I mean, we could really use a sorta ‘quality’ on the items.

They have these already in game. Both named and certain “High Quality” Weapons/Armor. Check the weaponsmith and armorer everytime you’ll see em. Or you’ll get lucky in combat and get one. I don’t feel that the addition of crafting will have a huge impact on the game.

    Research!
I don’t feel strongly either way on this.

    Non-Battle Skills!
Agreed highly. I have posted this same thing a few posts down.

    Hunting!
    Meh.

    Sieges!
Yes plz. Or at the very least combat in an urban setting.

    More Races!
Pretty sure the devs have said this isn’t happening. Maybe you can hope for this in dlc later on.

    More Beasts!
Not enough beasts, I agree. Remember this is a low fantasy setting.

    Politics!
This is a work in progress. The beginning portion is already in the game. Just need to get further in, and develop more relations/renown

    A log!
    Yes Please!

A way to raise base default level of relationship with a faction!

So.. Say a Town is being razed, and I save all the fools; Let the town/faction level for me be raised, like bench marked at a certain point. So they know, Hey I saved you all. Love me. And it won’t degrade below that point!

Yes to saving town, getting relation. No to not degrading below a certain point. What if you later raid the town, etc.

    Default Combat Unit Placement!
Yes Please. There has been a lot of talk about this. I’m sure its something there working on. This could be tied into the skills outside of combat, or a hireling, etc.

    More Combat Pets!
    Meh

    Better Skill try!
Would love some more work to be done on the skill tree. The bigger the better. Love building my brothers and trying different builds.

    Barracks!
They plan on implementing something like this. But not a stationary structure. Something more like a supply train that follows you around or is part of your actual group.

    Better Exploration!
They have this in the game, albeit a little basic. I always hop onto mountains for a second, as it will greatly increase my LOS. Also they have enemy camps/dungeons hidden, just have to find them. The bartender can give you hints. Also I would love for the watch towers that we see to act the same as a mountain, minus the slowing of your troop on world map.

All in all some good points here. Sounds like you need to get a little further in your game however. Happy hunting.

Just got my twelfth man and leveled both starters to level seven so if these features are in the game or being considered for DLC apologies.

    * Linked/multi part contracts/missions: find a letter implicating the Baron’s wife; ambush her lover’s men before they seize the Baron; assault the wife and her lover in their abode, return for reward and find the assassins hired by the illicit couple have the Baron hostage. Branching paths would be cool too – In the example provided the player could elect to join with the couple against the Baron.
    * Silk Road: Longer ‘patrols/escorts’ that give rewards at each Caravanserai; access to different goods, special gear, weapons, and hires; combat is against a better class of raiders with loads of marksmen
    * Long term injuries/diseases/illness/plague: Geoff takes an arrow to the shoulder and is -10% in combat unless he gets that wound healed. If untreated the damage to his stat could be permanent or even greater (loses the arm). Either leave him in a Tavern for a bit, rest or…
    * Hospitallers: Knights dedicated to healing have set up chapter house where long term cared can be provided – for a fee; could be contract givers as well (find be herbs to combat this plague). Quests to gain membership (access to leaving a comrade behind; maybe hiring on a Knight for a bit; special gear, weapons, and armor)
    * Along the lines of the “more races” mentioned above; Additional Cultures with their own unique gear, professions, tactics, and potential hires: Arab/Berber; Balkans; Africans; Central Asian; Spanish; etc.
    * More personality conflicts between Brothers: Not a sever a Darkest Dungeon but along those lines and have these come out over time (as you get to know your Brother you find out he snores, is a heretic, and has a lucky ‘knuckle bone’ which is actually his Da’s finger bone) or because of combat (ever since Brother Geoff got that arrow in the shoulder be breaks every arrow he sees – hate having to hide them from him.)
