Let us create our own character who can fight

I’m sure it has been asked for countless times, but I still have to request this feature:

I wish to have my own character who can fight on the front lines. It bugs me that all I do is command my men while I do nothing 😅

Kindly let us have our own character to whom we can give a name and change appearance. Let him level like any other character, but do not let him die or suffer permanent injuries.

I’m sure such a feature would be much appreciated.
