I think polearms are imbalanced. It’s a 2-tile range weapon which means it can’t be effective in close combat even with mastery. So when you engage in melee with a polearm wielding enemy you don’t have any advantage and enemy doesn’t have any disadvantage compared to real life battle.
Due to unwieldy characteristic of this weapon I propose to add penalties to damage and accuracy in close combat despite mastery so the tactics of fighting with this weapon remained distant.
In addition to it, I think nomad’s pocket sand shouldn’t be allowed for polearm wielders. They doesn’t have any penalties in close combat dealing huge damage and freely debuff every turn many of stats. When you come close they become even more dangerous having an unwieldy weapon which makes busy both hands.
