    I encountered a settlement on an Island with no harbour. It’s the only settlement, which means there is no way of getting there.

    You (and everyone else) can cross narrow straits of water, so the settlement can in fact be reached by foot. Just give it a try.

    About that. For the sake of clarity and understanding, can you make water tiles at least 1 tile away from shore in every direction a darker shade to make it look deeper and unpassable ?
