    Excuse the dramatic title :-)

One of the youtube discussions brought up the fact that the cities destroyed in greenskin or undead invasions never repair themselves. In time this may leave the world feeling too small (and sad) and also limit your options for trading.

    So…
    Is this true?
Can this be reasonably prevented in play? (like defending the cities by yourself)
At what day does end-game crises usualy hit? (first and any subsequent ones)
Is it wise to choose “War” as the first crises because this doesn’t ruin any cities?
Will different crises arise after the “War” if I specificaly choose “War” at the start?

You can defend cities by yourself, but you will never know when. That’s sad, but that’s how it is.

The War option messes up cities as well, in that satellite resources (like orchards, ore smelteries, etc) are destroyed.

Not nearly as bad as those are rebuilt over time. Heck, outside of crisis those get burnt down by raiders anyway
