Hello again! After watching many many many lets plays on youtube I saw something that could be saving lots of battle brother´s lifes.
You all know Mount & Blade so it won´t be hard to make you understand what I mean. There are many occasions when a fight might be not the best idea. And sometimes there are others that want to bring the fight to you. I saw that in many lets plays and it is similar to Mount & Blade. Sometimes the enemy is faster than you and every second counts. Each moment you wait with the retreat could lead to your doom. Now to the point that M&B does really good: If your mercenary band does not wander around the game automatically goes to pause and unpauses the moment you move on. You can ofcourse unpause while standing around and this is good. Right now in Battle Brothers it is the other way round. Time is always passing and you can pause if you want to. I saw guys getting screwed because they saw the enemy, tried to run away, didn´t know where to go, looked on the map while not realising that their brothers just stood around and got caught eventually resulting in dead battle brothers.

as with most topics there have been internal disussions on this one and I myself suggested the system you mentioned. Just like many other topics we judged this as “not critical” so we will find a final decision on that matter some time after the Early Access :)24. And ofcourse it is no critical thing right now nor is it gamebreaking. It´s just something that should get a second look when there is time^^

Some additional options could be stuff like: pause at sight of enemy, pause when at 0 food, pause when at 0 money, etc. Things that could end your game, but which you can overlook if your attention slips for a moment. If implemented it should be fairly limited though, or otherwise it would break up the tense atmosphere you got going on.
Auto-pause would also almost be mandatory if plan on adding in an option to speed up travel time on the stragic map, because you could easily kill yourself or have no time to react to threats that pop up without it.6.
