Unable to Visit Towns after Canceling Mission

I sign up for a mission in Hammerstead to track some thieves and return a lockbox. Unfortunately, I had track footprints turned off by mistake, so I wandered around aimlessly. I decided to cancel the mission, however, I noticed right after doing that every town I visit I get a blank / black transparent screen pop up.

Has anyone encountered this? If so is there a way to fix it? Unfortunetly, I didn’t save that recently before I accepted the mission, so I don’t want to go all the way back to early save.

There is no fix atm afaik. The workaround is to save and then reload. It happens to me quite frequently and on random occasions.
