Holy.DeathParticipant
This should help a great deal, because often I has been wandering the land in search of better items (usually armors) and all I could do was to hit locations like towers/fort/city and count that items I wanted would be there. With being able to estimate the richness of locations this problem should more or less go away.
Holy.DeathParticipantSince that’s on topic – will female Battle Brothers introduce something unique to the game, or will they be just regular Battle Brothers of different gender?
Holy.DeathParticipantI must be either blind or stupid… I was looking at the page the whole time and still didn’t realize the difference between the third and the fourth option. Anyway, upgraded. It’s simply worth it, seeing how you go above and beyond each time I think you reached the objective and yet you still keep pouring more and more content.
Holy.DeathParticipantThe normal version.
Holy.DeathParticipantI have only one question: how can I upgrade my Steam version of the game to Supporter Edition?
Holy.DeathParticipantIt looks like the Noble Houses will really feel a lot more like actual factions, not just generic enemies. I wonder if Orcs and Goblins get the same kind of treatment or will their distinction be limited to banners only? How about some paint job on shields? As far as I can recall shields are blank, but giving them insignia of a specific clan (with color, ideally) would help. You know, something like this.
I am glad to see the standard-bearer, but I wonder how impactful will it be in actual tactical combat. Because I think that the idea of killing an Orc Warboss or a Goblin Overseer is not really working too well in terms of helping to break down enemy morale. In practice it takes way too much effort for little to no tactical gain.
Holy.DeathParticipantI am fine waiting as long as needed, provided there will be updates on the blog to let us know what’s going on.
Holy.DeathParticipantI find swingy randomness easier to forgive in Darkest Dungeon becos I’m controlling a small squad of 4 in simplifeid positions. DD’s main draw to me is the flavour; the game is oozing that dark and despair flavour like crazy. Even then, folks complain about the randomness thre as well (and unlike BB you can’t load a previous save hahaha)
I am of the opposite mind: the number of units you control in Darkest Dungeon is smaller, you also can’t really do anything without using an action. So if you HAVE to move forward in order to do anything you sacrifice your turn for that. If you decide to attack and miss you wasted a turn basically and have much less options on the table, which can be even worse if you NEEDED that action to hit. With battle brothers you can control your positioning before you clash and there are more variables that make randomness less of a factor in Battle Brothers.
Battle brothers, you control up to 12 pcs on a full tactical hexagonal grid. Yeah, I can see how the folks who enjoy playing with that setting may want luck to play less of a role.
Honestly, people will complain about anything. There were people who complained that X-COM: Enemy Unknown was too luck based and completely ignored the fact that you can shape the odds in various ways. In fact X-COM: Enemy Unknown gave more options than the original X-COM, despite being simplified in some aspects.
Holy.DeathParticipantIt has been already confirmed that the current system will be changed to something that’s much more customizable at some point.
Holy.DeathParticipantIs that so? I never saw him outside of the demo/scenarios. Besides, that’s not exactly what I proposed.
Holy.DeathParticipantGenerally everything comes down to money and time. If you have both you will be able to make a comeback.
Search and delivery missions are the best when you are in no shape to fight and your group got so small that you can actually profit from it. Then there are a caravan missions and weaker or slightly weaker camps to raid. I usually make a rule not to fight camps without a quest (unless I attack a stronghold, there is a lot of loot, including gold, to be found), so even after a pyrrhic victory I am capable to hire replacements and buy equipment (unless I have some in store, which I do, after this bug that made me lose stuff all the time).
Holy.DeathParticipantThat’s an interesting thought… I forgot about zombies being turned into a whole subfaction. It makes separation of skeletons and turning them into the ancients (and not just another fallen medieval warriors) even more curious. I wonder what they will come up with. On that note, I can’t recall if I ever have seen a zombie with a shield, save for my fallen battle brothers.
What about necromances/liches being able to use a “control” spell, to make one particular zombie being capable of using more refined tactics (skills) and, generally, overwritting the common zombie stupidness? A remote commander of sorts, who can swap his “hosts” when the need arises and impact the battlefield while staying behind the front lines.
Holy.DeathParticipantThat’s why they either should be more often mixed with something more than ghouls or they should have their weapon resistances increased.
Holy.DeathParticipantHoly.DeathParticipant2 & 3: Coat of Scales and Scale Armor cost more, but in exchange for having to pay an extra 1000 gold you get better armor and less fatigue for wearing them. While Heavy Lamellar and Lamellar Harness cost 1000 less gold, they have a few points of armor less and cost more stamina to wear. I’d say that having an armor that has more protection and costs less stamina is worth it. Gold can be earned. Stamina and protection can be a matter of life and death on the battlefield.
