Losing some noname equipment is not a big deal, but when it comes to unique pieces this makes it a big turn down in my opinion. The only other way to really lose everything a brother holds in case of battle is when fleeing, which is understandable. Winning in the arena with a casualty and not even being able to take your own equipment of your slain comrade is another thing.

I get that you might see it as some way of balancing, but from my point of view it is just too harsh.

    Hey guys,
I haven’t posted in a while. Now that I am working on some new event pictures, there’s finally new material to show.
Let’s start off with the barbarian champion from this weeks blog header.

    Cheers!

    Champion

I really like how you put that in Conan Warpaint

Many younger players won’t actually get the reference I guess. Great movie.

May I ask, if you have something like a roadmap/priority list of features you want to add to the game in the future in case you are continueing to make more DLCs? If so are more battlemaps and special locations being somewhat shown with special props on the battleground (like gravestones, broken wall pieces and similar stuff) to make the game more immersive part of that? Please don’t get me wrong, I do understand that you have to make hard decisions what to add and what to push aside with limited funds and manpower. I’d just like to know if there is any hope at all for this in the future.

Doesn’t fit the time period. The equipment is roughly around 11th – 12th century while the telescope was invented in the beginning of the 17th century.

Yeah I agree with the others. Even if you deem the old assets “inferior” we like them nonetheless and having the new ones in addition for more diversity would be a really nice thing without an additional cost. Why throw them away when they are still looking great?

You could still use them for rare named armor and weapons if you take them out of the standard variants. Or let the old great sword only be available from that one random event with the old man’s funeral. Just a random idea.

I would love to see more diverse tile sets for specific locations.

For example having a real graveyard to fight on with gravestones and crypts and broken wall pieces instead of trees and bushes.
Real encampments for orcs, goblins and brigants. I would not even care if those were not randomly generated but had only 2 to 3 premade layouts. It would be so much more immersive to fight in those locations instead of just in the middle of the wilderness like always.

But I get that this would be a lot of work to add with no improvement to the game mechanics. Still this would be a feature I’d love to see and would pay for even if it was the only thing added to the game.

Thank you for this change, this really makes a difference on my current map with a big pine forest in the center :)

I don´t really like this timed mechanic at all. Why force the player into a way to play the game if it is the player choice that was intended to be emphasised?

Ambitions is a nice thing to have. Once you choose one you have that ambition and nothing else. Let it be infinite. The way i understand it fullfilling the ambition should be some kind of reward for doing a good job but the way it is right now it feels like a damocles sword over your head in the early game when you have to take an ambition.

Maybe offer the possibility to change it after a longer time without success (this change in plans may then lead to a small morale drop – which is something a player would only choose if he realises he cannot fullfill the current ambition any time soon).

I really hope the release of your finished game will be a financial success. I know you were forced to cut some really cool things for time and budged reasons. It would be a shame to let this game in the state it is now. Don´t get me wrong. I love it and it is a great game. But after seeing your previews for battlefield objects it was a big disapointment to hear you had to cut it out. I would love to see future expansions that push this game from great to perfect :)

Love the idea of a broken Glaive paul!

Weeeeeee neeeeeeeeeed a Murmillo and Myrmidion though, with net and trident/>

And to be honest, a slinger or two would be excellent

This helmet would be amazing too…

I would be suprised to find such a helmet on an ancient dead soldier. The classes of gladiators fighting against each other in the arena were equipped with weapons and armor to have strenghes as well as weaknesses compared to each other to provide for a somewhat fair fight. After all these arena fights were no slaughterfests atleast when it came to gladiators fighting against each other. They were meant to entertain the people. To train a gladiator was an expensive and longtime investment if you believe modern scientific investigations. Most of the time both gladiators would leave the arena alive.
But aside from this. Take a look at this helmet. You would not want to wear it. Your field of view is very restricted. You will not be able to hear very good which worsens your ability to know what is going on around you even more. And then there is the fully closed part right in front of your nose and mouth. You would have a hard time moving around with this helmet for a prolonged time let alone fighting while you get less and less fresh air. This is why military grade helmets of that era looked like this:

    Roman Legionary Helmet

Yes, the front of the soldiers face is unprotected. But he can see without restrictions, breath freely and hear the commands of his leading officer.

But the allignment in the menu could be made in the same hexagonal way it is done in battle and the problem is solved.

Hmm i usually butcher zombies in chainmail using daggers to get their armor early on. My mercs may not like the stench but they appreciate the protection ;)

This is true. I can remember quite a few injuries but knowing all of their mali just from seeing the picture or injury name is not to be expected.

Some of these standarts weights 20+ kilos. Are they belongs to beastmen from Warhammer:FB?

If I was appointed a standartbearer in such of these groups, I would have deserted for sure.

The sword banner looks very heavy but take a look at the horsehead. The one carrying that around will be also a dead horse when a fight starts^^
