    First of all, I am very happy that you guys added the mercenary preview feature.
    That said I am not completely satisfied with how it is implemented. I feel that it is a bit too expensive and it does not give away the really important info – talents. Please add talents info to the preview!

    I second that – Legends mod proved that feature more than useful, especially if you’re playing Ironman where you just can’t afford to spend lots of crowns on a sellsword or a swordmaster only to get a guy with 3 stars in some dump stats instead.
    You can raise tryout cost, if you think that this feature will be too “cheating”, but I don’t think it needs that.

    No no no disagree, the point of Battle Brothers is that there will be bad times. It can’t be sunshine and legendary items on every corner. For an epic run to be truly epic… you need to have disappointing hires and manage to endure. Once you get that duelist recruit with 3 stars melee attack 3 stars fatigue and 3 stars defense…. that’s when you post screenshots to the forum and bask in glory. The game has to have special moments and in order to facilitate that it has to have shitty moments too.

    I want to agree with your point overall, ForceEcho. But if you are adding a feature that lets players spend a significant sum to avoid risking an even larger sum, why make it actually not very helpful?

    Pay to avoid hiring a crappy bro.
    Still hire a crappy bro.

    To be honest the only change I would make is reducing the cost for top tier background try outs, at the very most I could see one talent randomly being revealed but that’s it. I just think it would be too OP then.

    But we know exactly what we buy in market or other shops, and even training hall gives us exactly result.
    We can estimate how much current sword is broken, but can’t see that some guy doesn’t have leg?

    So, gambling with mercs looks a bit bothering. Also it’s only one that can be abused with save-load.
    As for me there are two options to make it fair – “hide all” and “show all”. In first option – you can’t see stars even after hiring, but can guess after few lvlups. In second option – you can see all parameters of merc, but must pay more for better guy.
