Castle Patrol helps against Caravan

just found an interesting bug. a neutral castle patrol walked up to me while i was next to a hostile caravan.
im not sure if the patrol attacked me or the caravan but i would assume it attacked the caravan which pulled me into battle.
as you can see the patrol helps me against the caravan.
kinda strange.

edit: now the same NEUTRAL castle patrol attacked me. the encounter screen was normal and when i went into the fight i instantly got the battle won screen and could leave. very strange. i literally cant even right now.

after playing some more on my save i noticed that its a constant issue. even supply caravans attack me for no reason and start on my side in battle unless theres no enemies nearby in which case the battle just instantly ends.
i dont know if my savegame is corrupted or if thats a general issue.
