In another threat I opened just some minutes ago I mentioned fords as strategic positions. Having castles or even forts/outposts on those and other important key locations would be nice to see and might offer possibilities for other game mechanics later on (faction wars and so on). Even trading stations for caravan mechanics would be possible. Taverns along the road and on those places many pass/cross would add some interesting options.
What I want to say about the castles is that I like the way they where in an early state of the game. Upon those allready “existing” possibilities in castles there are many that could be added and expanded; while only being offered in castles.
Not to be missunderstoud with castles I mean verysmall fortifications made from stone or wood, wich only host soldiers and some peasent(no villagers); since I know actual castles allready exist
