Game Randomly Freezing

I got battle brothers just over the weekend and really love the game so far! However each play session I continually run into the same bug that is really wrecking the experience.

So between anywhere from 5 mins and an hour into either loading a game or starting a new game, the game with totally freeze rendering all action by the player ineffective. This can happen any time in the game, on the map, in battles, in stores, or specing my brothers. What happens is the game freezes up and does not allow anything else to take place, I still have my cursor and can move it around but clicking or doing anything is useless. The game however will never crash to desktop, it just stays in a constant state of being frozen until I shut the application down. The music will continue to play after this freeze and if there is a UI up, like say on the bottom in a battle, pressing ESC will make the bottom UI disappear. This is the only effect I can have on the game after the freeze.

I have uninstalled the game multiple times, updated drives, removed the config file, and played around with windowed setting and the vsync option to try and fix this but nothing has an effect. Each time I play a freeze is gaurenteed between apx 5 mins and 1 hour.

Thank you for your help in advance I would really like to fix this issue as I love the game and want it to be playable!

No idea what causes this issue for you, I’m afraid; the log doesn’t show any kind of error with the game.

Ok, well that’s too bad. How can I go about refunding them game then? Because this bug makes it unplayable.

I dunno how nobody noticed this but for me its because of the automatic pause every time you leave a town (if thats its turned on in the settings) or every time you defeat an orc settlement after you unpause your game would suddenly freeze! sometimes pressing esc twice or going in and out of the menu would fix it but it would freeze again when you go back to the menu

Ive been testing it for quite a while now and it actually seems like its because of me finishing the ambitions and having autopause although im havent tested if i just have too much money to spend

Yeah i think it might actually be because of the autopause and that the events forcibly stopping your game until you pick an option and this might be a case of an event popping out without being in present in the screen disabling us from choosing any options and forcibly freezing the game

Im 100% sure its got something to do with the ambition system

I figured it out! I have a mod that customizes your characters stats,perks and traits and so i tend to max out my brothers right away but this time around i played without messing with the characters and found out that it doesnt freeze so the problem either comes from the mod or theres a stat limit that you shouldnt reach otherwise the ambition system will freeze up your game

Ok so it seems the game crashes if all your troops are of high level and there is nobody of low level to frown upon the company if you cancel or complete an ambition
