I think you could improve your loot system by introducing item quality levels. At the moment, all falchions and daggers and crossbows are created equal. A slight randomization of their stats would make looting a more enjoyable experience. This falchion has +2% hit chance. That one has +3 minimum damage. This other generates 1 less fatigue when swung. Maybe this other one has a slightly lower maximum damage, or a combination of all of these elements.
This feature would add a new element into your item system by which even finding or buying the same item(s) over and over can be exciting as you search for that perfectly forged weapon or armor for your lead merc.
