This might have been brought up, but figured I would anyway.
It might be nice if when you gain renown or reputation for completing quests, or killing a mercenary group as they try to take your prize; that either you the player or the mercenary group as a whole gets Experience and levels.
You could have separate skills there that effect game-play on world map. Here are some examples:
Leadership: For each point adds 1 to your max amount of brothers, makes party slower on world map.
Tracking: Allows you to get more information from tracks per rank, also a indication of what made the tracks.
Path-finding: Improves travel speed, especially effective in rough terrain.
First Aid: Slightly increases the rate at which your injured brothers heal after a fight.Just an idea. It could be to much to add. Figure I would throw it out there. And of course there could be more skills than that. Just some examples.
9. March 2016 at 20:43 #13229Andrew Sorry for my bad english KleinerParticipantI thought about it, I really like this idea.
9. March 2016 at 22:05 #13233Marsh The MuddyParticipantLove this idea… Why is it not in the game already?
The developers said that there would be non combat brothers to help outside of the battlefield, but the skills seem even better… It would also be a steady platform for adding more brothers to the rooster, and even implement more events such as crafting, brewing and training…9. March 2016 at 22:24 #13234RusBearParticipantThis idea was at the request of my friend in my theme suggestion. The idea is good – well, the more similar will offer – then more chance that we will get in the game :)
11. March 2016 at 14:10 #13331DanubianParticipantSomeone has been playing Mount&Blade :)
11. March 2016 at 20:07 #13357kingslomeinParticipantYeah it’s a little similar to what’s in place in M&B, It could be different as well. They could be NPC’s that you hire that don’t enter in combat. Be part of your “baggage train” Like a tracker, or medic etc. Just an idea.
On a side note pcgamer.com put out a 40 minute long video of M&B2 gameplay. It looks amazing. :)
11. March 2016 at 22:01 #13363Marsh The MuddyParticipantWhat if you could buy “upgrades” for your team? Maybe in the beginning the limit would be 8 mercenaries and then buy a caravan that would slow you down, but increase the limit on both mercenaries and items? Then maybe buy non-combat horses for increased speed on the worldmap? There are many things to list, but it would be as I said a “steady platform”…
12. March 2016 at 08:09 #13383kingslomeinParticipantSounds like a good idea. Or something to keep spending your gold on once your brothers are lvl 11 and have the best gear.
12. March 2016 at 08:22 #13384SkyParticipantThe non combat personal, the reserve and other management related bonus stuff is something that was planned after the worldmap update. And that was two weeks ago. Wouldn’t be surprised if it all comes with an UI update together at a later date. As seen before, it is bugfixing and balancing time, adding in the remaining content based on the worldmap update (like more quests) then more fixes n balancing, and probably after that will come an other bigger update with more assets. Don’t forget that all the visuals have to be made and programming done with a team of three.
14. March 2016 at 12:29 #13430RusBearParticipantas you know, by now the mercenaries do not receive XP for quests – only for battle. I think that the experience of the quests together with the Group’s reputation (fame) – it could be a good resource for the group’s tree perks
16. March 2016 at 06:21 #13499kingslomeinParticipant@sky: Can’t wait! I remember reading something about this a while ago.
@Rus Bear: Great idea!
