What mechanism controls scouting, and is there a way to improve it? I know I’ve seen events where I was unable to identify my attackers and such.
I was wondering because it seems like it would be cool to have a scouting stat that, if neglected by the player, would result in poor intel, more ambushes, and possibly even more/worse enemies being present than were suspected on the pre-combat scouting screen.
On the other hand, a good scouting ability could confer additional view range on the strategic map, more accurate unit counts on the scouting screen, and a greater chance to detect ambushes.
