Strange Save bug

Over the last couple of days ive been getting this frequent save file bug, where, I’ll save my game, and then the game will freeze momentarily.
After that, if i try to open the menu (the X) at the top right, all that comes up is either ‘save campaign, or load campaign’, with the battle brothers logo cut off on the right.
Also, I am unable to move my brothers at all on the map after this ‘crash?’
Everything works again after I reload, but its getting frustrating having to reload every few times I try to save my game.
Note Im playing on Veteran, with War as my endgame crisis.

Strange, anyone have any ideas?
