Unable to shield bash

Hello!
For some reason, I cannot shield bash this character (screenshot). Possibly because there’s shrubbery behind him.
Dxdiag is in the crash bug I reported 2 days ago, but I doubt that’s necessary in this case.
Edit: First screenshot was no good.

Nevermind. I selected split shield instead of shield bash. Cannot find a way to delete my post.
