Let’s Play ‘Beasts & Exploration’ DLC

The ‘Beasts & Exploration’ DLC for Battle Brothers is set to release on the 29th of this month. Let’s take a first look at gameplay footage today! 

Sit back and enjoy as developer Jaysen will talk you through changes and additions while trying not to die horribly. Just keep in mind that this is a preview and not the final DLC, as we’re still busy working on balance and polish.

In the first episode we talk about crafting, new traits and new settlement situations while making use of one of the newly added weapons!

In the second episode of our ‘Beasts & Exploration’ Let’s Play series, developer Jaysen and his Battle Brothers encounter one of the new beasts and craft a first item at the taxidermist!

We’ll be releasing new episodes every few days and will let you know on Twitter and Facebook!

      Yeah, this videos left me disappointed.

      Inconsistent septum – 2h polearm with low stats for a polearm and a penalty to use in spearwall range. IDK why bother with a spetum at all as its spearwall is unreliable in comparison to a spear (+20% acc for spear vs + 0% acc for spetum at melee range, as shown failed 55% to hit roll (guess 50+5+10-10 = miss).
      Even more trash is going to be piling up in the inventory – horns, brains, teeth, attachments, potions, paints etc, etc, etc creating competition for space with actually useful stuff like spare weapons, armor, loots for sale, meaning player is pressured to get rid of this “new content” ASAP or endure and sacrifice actual income/adaptability/safety for keeping stuff of questionable usefulness.
      Actually a bit worried about upcoming videos featuring unchanged perks and “new weapons”.
      I wonder, “tiny” currently is -15%dam +5 alldef, new “hulking” is +10%dam -5alldef. Was the “tiny” buffed or it is just inconsistent?

        Somebody wasn’t reading all dev blogs, ccc! They already said you will get extra inventory space because of the new items…

          I did, but starting size is the same as in current ver.
          Guess it is not a big deal – to change a value, but it is not done in this ver. Amount of actual change, and its implementation is what makes me interested.

    Great to see new things. I’d like to see the bandits of the beginning of the second video with new equipment and weapons.

      Their equipment is randomized. Brigands have access to many of the new weapons, and sometimes they even have them in the introductory battle.

    Considering balance thing, maybe its worthwile to re-consider archers balance, like late-game archers are close to useless state, not used at all by all experienced players, moreover I see no new beast which makes archers anyhow more viable (I would rather say Kraken will kill archers fast). Oh, and no new weapons for archers (except throwables) may be disappointing. Maybe just make choosing a battle roster right at battle start available for player to choose archers where they can be good?
