HarlathParticipant
The potions are already replaceable if the brother who drank it dies/leaves (with the natural exception of potions for foes only present in one fight). Hope this helps! :)
HarlathParticipantThanks for sharing these, they are as evocative as ever. Still clearly signals what the buildings are for gameplay purposes while communicating a different culture. Great stuff. The new figures are good too, the old ones would have looked out of place and jarring while these look splendid!
HarlathParticipantIf you go to “Options”->”Gameplay” then under the “Flow” heading there should be a “Reset Equipment after Battle” option that does what you’re after. Hope this helps! :)
That said, there are cases where this might be useful, such as equipping axes before fighting Schrats.
HarlathParticipantI can see where you’re coming from on this, but I quite like the Verteran levels. They’re a small bonus, but you don’t feel you’re wasting XP by keeping your Veterans in the line-up while you train up new Battle Brothers. It keeps the Veterans getting something while still keeping them in range of your lower level brothers and the enemies.
I worry balance would be sent of out whack by larger gains/specicial perks etc.
Current system seems in the sweet spot to me.
HarlathParticipantHaha I just painted icons for three backgrounds that I didnt even know we have in the game :)
From left to right Assasin, Crusader and Orcslayer. You cannot hire these like other backgrounds though.
Splendid! There is a post by a player who discovered the Crusader event in-game. I like the new icons and think these backgrounds are a nice extra touch. :)
If only there was a way to keep the crusader, will have to investigate…
HarlathParticipantSelecting the Noble House War means settlements suffer temporary damage from raiding and can change hands, but locations (and their attached mini-locations) don’t get destroyed. Good summary from the developers in this diary:
HarlathParticipantCongratulations on at least using the Crusader to see off the Undead Crisis, well done!
At least he least the party his stuff and seems to come in as a free mid level Brother with good equipment and a strong background.
HarlathParticipantWell spotted and thanks for sharing! Looks to be a fairly strong background going by his stats, strong Health, Melee Attack, Resolve and decent defence.
Nice that Overhype have added little touches like this, makes the world much more vibrant and means each playthrough is special.
HarlathParticipantVery evocative art as always. Particularly like the one in the top left of the warrior sharpening his blade.
Keen to see the events these are linked to in the game, this art helps support the game’s atmosphere and makes events feel special.
HarlathParticipantnever saw a goblin with an unique weapon, goblins don’t have uniques yet?
They dont have them in the classical sense, only the spiked impaler as a kind of unique crossbow.
I would rather paint more unique weapons for humans to be honest as I feel it would fit better.Cheers!
I think this is the right call: your unique gear for humans is splendid and too much non-human gear creates an unpleasant mis-mash rather than the interesting variety on offer at the moment.
Keep up the good work, the art is vital for the game’s tone and flavour.
HarlathParticipantCheers! I think using reputation would be an interesting way to drive recruitment options, albeit I’m not sure how easy this would be be to code even if the developers agree.
HarlathParticipantCracking work as ever! Love the art style as ever, really supports the overall tone of the game and is distinctive.
Get the programmers to crank up the frequency of events so we can see more of your excellent event work.
HarlathParticipantThanks for the thoughtful response! Important to strike a balance and appreciate the move to ranges makes things harder.
Even a vague comment about “Characters with this background are more likely to have high x, y and z attributes, but low q attributes” or similar might help people appreciate the depth more.
Will hopefully chip in more ideas after the next big patch: good luck putting it together and compliments to the team on such a fine game: it’s a game with real depth and flavour thanks to the mechanics and art style.
