    EDIT
The forum doesn’t allow me to edit my previous post ヽ(´□`。)ノ This is trivial but you can put a kite shield in your belt inventory, in case you’re rushing towards unguarded enemy archers. (Since you have Quick Hands, switching item should be no problem). Almost forgot to mention, yeah you can put a billhook in belt inventory for extra(minor) advantage.

Alright so I’m at around 100 days, been gradually replacing my mercs for better ones (almost all are hedge knight, sellsword, adventurous noble or with good extra traits) and I’ve replaced pretty much all my archers. They got the perk where they got extra bags and can switch weapons without penalty, but they almost always just use their billhooks since it works way better for them.

Got one dude with a greatsword, 3 billhooks, couple of military cleavers and the rest with fighting axes. Biggest fight so far: 4 armies of raiding orcs where going at it at a small town. I took some serious armor damage, had 80 hours before all equipment was in good order again, but no men lost. just form a shieldwall and do damage with your billhooks from behind the line and bring them down one by one. Going to try again now for a hard game, since this one is pretty much done.

My issue with your design for your swordmaster is that his armor level is wayy too low.

Minimum chance to hit is 5% – that means, no matter how much dodge you have, you’ll get hit 5% of the time. An Orc Boss can easily pump out 200+ damage on a hit, so armoring your swordmaster. to at least survive the freak hit happening is advisable.

I agree. This is why I stick at least Lamellar Harness on all melee toons.

Also, seriously? 88 Melee Defense on a Swordmaster character is normal; it’s nothing even remotely special. I have a current one at 110 without the Melee Defense starter Trait; with level up luck and that Trait, 120 is probably doable unbuffed.

What kind of black magic is this? щ(ºДºщ)

Out of 20+ WildmanS I encountered, only 2 have Strong trait.

Their stats are not even close to yours! щ(ºДºщ)

Your Widlman’s max fatigue is maxed out and melee skill is almost maxed out.

He is good enough to compete for “Strongest Wildman Top 5”.

140 Fatigue? How is that possible?…

Hmmm, ok, I didn’t realize Wildmen have more Fatigue as a Background.

Hmmm, I must find Hedge Knights with the “Strong” Trait.

What’s the best way to recycle mercenaries on offer for hire until you get the one you want? I Just hire and dismiss nonstop to renew the hiring pool. Is there a quicker and lesss costly way?

So let’s review in terms of desirable Traits:
    For DPS monsters, you want “Strong” for that extra Fatigue;
    for tanks, you want “Quick” for the Initiative or “Sure Footing” for the Melee Defense;
for rally bots, you need Fearless for the highest Resolve?

Edit: Yehsoo! I got a Sellsword with “Strong.”

    1 down 11 to go.

“Fearless” and “Strong” Adventurous Noble with sixty sixy Resolve!!!

    A bonanza.

2 down 10 to go for my dream team.

If you prefer result over hardship, you can do this:
Every 4 days, there are new arrival on hire list and previously existed ones might (or might not) leave. City has most people to hire. Do not enter the city for 8~12 days (or more), and all old recruits will be gone. Save the game.

*The hire list is NOT DETERMINED until you have entered the city.

For rally brothers, Adventurous noble with Fearless trait probably yields highest Resolve available, so far none has stated an objection against this.

“Fearless” and “Strong” Adventurous Noble with sixty sixy Resolve!!!

It might be shameless for me to say this, but I think I’ve told you quite an amount of information for past few days.

To be fair, I think it’s time for you to teach me black magic.

Wow, that’s invaluable. Thanks so much!

Also, it seems like the main city attracts more mercenaries?

You have a better game though, my Sith Master! ;)

And when or if I ultimately surpass you, then there can only be one of us! ;)

Not sure if I understand your question right, but city(should be only one) has more available recruits than town.

Ehehehe….really? (*´∀`*)ゞ (Maybe I’m quite good… or better than him!)

    Yes, you understood me correctly.

Another good thing about strong wildman combo is that he can wear 35 fatigue worth of equipment before it starts to lower his initiative.

I’ve just tried this and Jaffai is correct. I never imagined or noticed the relationship between initiative and max fatigue penalty is actually NOT linear. O|¯|_ To be precise, I never imagined there is some sort of upper/lower cap in this relationship.

By the way, is this info mentioned somewhere in game? I’ve never seen it.
