Hi Jago and Sylvanus,
as far as I know, the limit of 12 brothers still exists. In the battle you saw on the screen shots I got attacked by two bandit raiding parties while standing next to a small town so the town spawned a few militia fighters and joined the combat!

It’ll probably stay around that for battles but we want to remove or at least double the hard limit on how many men you can have with you on the worldmap once we have the time to do a proper UI for roster selection (think starting line up for a football/soccer team). Having more than 12 men available will become more important as we expand the injury system in the future, as this will allow you to rotate injured Battle Brothers who need a bit of time to recover from their wounds.
I actually had that same idea about being able to buy a round or two of beer for your Battle Brothers in a tavern for a chance to raise their moale in the short-term. Trying this too often would run the risk of them suffering from the negative effects of alcohol. Sadly I wasn’t able to convince anyone that this spectacular feature was worth investing time into for the Early Access release ;)
A renown system is something we’re considering to add later on as it would open up a bunch of new gameplay possibilities and solve some minor balancing problems for us.

March 2015 at 23:56 #1718Sylvanus1987ParticipantAmazing i like to hear more about injury system , it can be amazing , and make some reason to have some followers as Healers for mend this wounds , it would open also more deep in the game , the drink i tell it because for morale it fits soo well , and the renown system is needed in my opinion to have a humble begin and depending in your actions become more loved or hated by diferent towns , it would open as you say new branches to make this game ” The best and most complete”
Like always i will look every night this forum and think in new things to do in this awesome game , thx for all the answers.

the injury system is something we planned right from the start. It’s no finished design, but as I imagine it will also “add” traits to characters when they get heavily wounded. For example guys loosing an eye, finger or even limbs (we dont have to change the bust for that haha).The other way round I can imagine adding traits for especially heroic deeds in combat, but thats far into the future….

Not to detailed only weapon movement or something , when they hit seems to push and not feel like a Heavy blow or a Crit , i have to tell you , you made an amazing work i love and is not only this i say “LOVE” the art in this game , keep your style for future things you are freaking awesome.

I know the player will not be present like mercenary and for point of gameplay I think that is ok, but I like to be bound to something which represent some of my choices during the game. For instance, will it be hard to make the screen, the screen where you manage your company, to have some little larger image of your current captain, which face, equipment, scars, perks and ranks present brothers company in current time. Even if it cosmetic it will give some personality to the company

Not sure what you mean. Do you want the busts of the brothers to be bigger in the equipment screen? Or do you want all brothers to have portraits, not busts?

Yes, I remember reading something about this (don’t know where though). Currently only the AI-controlled militia has a “captain”, but it would a cool addition and it makes sense. Every band of mercenaries should have some kind of leader that gives your brothers a morale bonus in battle, while he is alive.

For example, the aptly named ‘Captain’ perk increases the bravery of nearby characters based on the captain’s own bravery. The ‘Rally the Troops’ and ‘Inspiring Presence’ perks are two more ways to build characters into leaders that improve the performance of others and make sure they don’t turn tail and run in the heat of battle. We don’t restrict you to have a captain, though – you’re free to have none, one, or several captains and lieutenants depending on your playstyle.
Basing the worldmap figurine on a character the player selects isn’t a bad idea.

I meant bigger portrait of brother which we chose to be a leader in separate places, for instance in top mid equipment screen. Also, I don’t need him to have some unique leader skill he can be anyone we chose. Also, I would like this game to be more simulation that anything else, so please don’t make some op skills and op magic items lets positioning tactics and luck determine a victor not some op items equipment

Perhaps the warbands banner instead of a leader? That would look fancier.
