Danubian, I am interested in trying your build as I like axes. Axe mastery is definitely a great skill as it help with the long axe that has 2 tile reach as well as well as the two and one handed axes.Have you ever destroyed a orc warlords camp without taking a loss with this build? I think it could works if the front liners use two handed axes that have swing for crowd control. The long axes in the back rows would then help with support. My other question is do your crossbows hit more then they miss?

I agree with the bear, and anyone who likes this game should consider the supporters edition or upgrade. If you have a friend you want to surprise maybe even consider sending it as a gift. At the very least tell others because this game is certainly a treasure and I think not enough people who would like a game like this know about it.

Thanks Paul, but I junked it a while ago. When I make some new stuff I will be glad to show it to you.

I agree with grove knight. There may be as you say, better artists and teachers but I and I think many others like your style. I feel it adds the perfect flavor to the game, and seeing the older art compared to now is really amazing. Your process is certainly worthy of being shown and taught, I think many people would get a lot out of it including myself. I have been working on a Viking age board game that takes place around the area of Lofoten Norway, and includes other areas of northern Europe. I have had to start over again a few times because although I love my game concept, I feel that my art was not really conveying the mood that I was looking for. I think your style would be a perfect fit and would like to try and emulate it in my own way, so I would look forward to a tutorial in the future.
For now though, I certainly will continue to enjoy checking this page to see your latest work.

people have a short memory in this game. Its funny how you can have a band of mercenaries famous and loved throughout the land and if you disappear for a week or two into the wilds on a ranging campaign, you come back and ever ones like “who the hell are these guys?”

Haha, maybe when a battle brother is killed by a direwolf you can get a “feed a direwolf” achievement.

This is beautiful work Paul, I love when you use unique gear in your work! Does the guy with the bill hook have a hand injury?

Maybe a metal cap under the great sword wielders helmet so they would be less vulnerable to one shot kills.

Maybe they are representing a battle brothers version of landsknechts. The noble gear is beautiful, I hope with the new noble house wars feature we will be able to see the nobles we work for on the battle field at some point and possibly take this stuff off their corpse’s.

I don’t imagine nobles would want mercenaries wearing their colors, or they could be blamed for whatever foul deeds mercenaries were prone to doing. I would prefer gear that compliments your banner, which is why I chose the griffin banner on my latest play through. There are plenty of red and yellow shields, and even griffin kite shields. This is not to mention that the noble swords are red and gold along with a unique two handed sword. The red and gold griffin banner looks roman, so I imagine my guys to be a battle brothers counterpart to the varangian guards, who I then imagine where forced to flee the empire they served because of some wild intrigue, perhaps avenging a assassination.

top right one looks like a roman triumph ceremony.

    Pretty close :)
But I wont spoil anything yet….

A southern Imperial army sent to invade the northern lands battle brothers takes place in, giving us a chance to recreate battle of the teutoburg forest ?!?!?!?! I know….you wont spoil anything yet. Paul’s art sets the perfect tone for this battle brother world. The one with the hooded figure wandering in the misty woods has a very Germanic feel to it, makes me think old “Grim” wandering through midgard from old myths. All he needs is some ravens flying around in the background. I hope to see the lore of this battle brothers world well fleshed out because there is so much potential. I wonder even what the generic term for the lands that these events take place in are called.

I don’t mind waiting for a good thing, so I too hope that this and other features will be added at a later time. The creators of this game have been excellent to their gamer community and are always working hard and delivering us good stuff, so I think they will make good on what they tell us even if certain features wont be a priority for now.

Will the new sergeant sash only be dark blue or will there be different versions of it? Also would you ever consider adding a gyrfalcon as a special and rare variant of the falcon? I just think it would be cool to have variety and all it would do is change colors of things you already made.
