PsenBattleKeymaster
Hi Tomme,
thanks for the compliment, and of course welcome to the forums.Concering special items we got two things planned for sure already: Crafting accessory items and finding legendary items. Whether you’ll be able to craft (or enchant) items like weapons or armor later on has not yet been determined.
What is sure, however, is that any legendary/enhanced/magic/whatever weapon, armor or shield will have a unique icon and graphics. It’s very important to us to really show everything a character has equipped in game.
Cheers!

Although its pretty difficult if you really insist on non-linear :)
The only non-linear ones I can think of are the old X-Com, Civilization and Jagged Alliance.
As for linear, there are quite a few really good ones.
Lets start with “Silent Storm” (awesome cold war/sci-fi mix).
I also enjoyed some japanese squad based story tbs like vandal hearts (fantasy) or Front mission (scifi).
If you go for hardcore strategy I´d give it up to “Advance Wars” – just pure tactics with quick and fluent gameplay.
I also have to mention the alltime classic Panzer General. So, there are more than enough examples and a really great variety of what direction you can take with TBS games. Unlimited possibilities so to speak :)
Cheers
PsenBattleKeymasterHi agaian,
right now I´m working on the inventory icons for the Armor. In that step I´ll use the opportunity to rework some of them to get a consistent look and power progression into the items (behold, the top row is work in progress).
There´ll be more soon!PsenBattleKeymasterJust another little update.
While I continue working on the Keyvisual, I try to get all the icons ready we need for the inventory system. Some of them (mostly armor) will not be of final quality but the main focus is to get everything in.
I´m looking forward towards that!Cheers
PsenBattleKeymasterHey there,
just giving you a small update on the keyvisual.
The rest of the time I´ve spent on developing the look of the worldmap which costs a lot of time without producing a lot of awesome, showable pictures.
The next focus is to prepare the neccessary graphics for the basic implementation of the Inventory system before launching the public combat demo some time “soon”.Cheers!
PsenBattleKeymasterHey Gotanmarf,
Refering to your last post, we actually are planning something pretty similar to what you mentioned.
In the overall scheme of the game you will have to take care of the country and stop the evil events/invasion etc. If you fail doing this (or let yourself get distracted by hunting for artifacts, finding treasures etc), people will eventually get attack/terrorized and start to abandon towns and settlements.More people leaving results in reduced support and options in the towns until they are completey abandoned and fall under enemy influence.
That´s just a very rought concept, we´ll cover all this in detail soonish in a Blog post :)Cheers!
