    Do you think you could also present a step-by-step process of going from the source material to the finished game asset, preferably using a piece of armor as an example?

    Nice! Do you mind going into some detail about the historical artwork and time period that inspired the arms and armour in the game?

    did you ever thought about something similar to a “content pass” system .. like an EarlyAccess DLC ?? ..

    Hehe, actually I havent thought about something like that yet.
    On the other hand I think that whatever we produce next will also have an extensive “beta” or “early access” phase. This helped us so much in refining the game both design and bug wise.

    I would definitely pay for a DLC that adds more legendary items to the game

    We’ll have a discussion meeting today about the next steps. As you know, lunch time is crunch time hehe.

    By the way, as I am working on the artbook right now, let me know if there are any art related topics you are specifically interested in, I might go into some more detail there.

    Hey Paul, will there be legendary weapons in the game? Or only armors? Just wondering.

    Hey Lassefin,
    unfortunately we only have the 4 armor pieces and one accessory. On the other hand we already thought we would not be able to get in any legendaries at all, so its still better than nothing. Just see them as a little bonus, not an actual element of gameplay.

    but after passing 150 or 200 days it becomes clear how small the game world.

    thanks for the support and dont worry about the language, we are no native speakers either.
    Regarding your comments, the whole game is designed to “end” after 140-160 days when you survive the greater evil. We just added the option to keep on playing. we cannot provide content and balancing for 300 days or 500 or 1000. And even if we had the whole game designed to last 1000 days, there will be people asking to expand it further, because they want to play 2000 days :)
    We cannot deliver that.

    What we can do is expand the basic game with additional DLCs or something like that. We will now continue to give technical support to the game while I finish the Artbook and we talk about our next steps.
    We will surely let you guys know whats up in the next devblogs.

    thanks for the comments.
    Regarding the worn mail that’s something i noticed while playing too, good work pointing it out again, it somehow slipped our attention. We will change that.
    Regarding the zombies it’s a little bit tricky as they use exactly the same assets the brothers use. We use some dirt and blood layers on top to make them look more worn out. The Fallen heroes for example have their own unique armors, that’s why they look so old and rotten.
    I will see if we can work a little bit better with the dirt layers, especially the shiny mail parts tend to stand out.

    If it is about editing all of the texts to fit female characters, I definitely would not mind helping out for free.

    thanks a lot for the offer. We wil definitely keep an eye on the whole battle sisters issue, but at the moment we are completely absorbed by the launch of the game. The earliest possibility for the sisters to appear would be the first expansion to be honest.
    We will see what the future holds.

    I have the random question for you about goblin archer camouflage…Did you were inspired to create them by german ww2 zeltbahn camouflage ?

    Not exactly, but I played a lot of WW2 games, so its easily possible that I saw it somewhere and got influenced without even being aware of that :)
    Now that I think about it, It actually may have been the snipers coat in one of the Silent Storm games, but I cant finde the example right now…

    Speaking of legendaries, are they intended to not fulfill named-item-ambition/steam-achievement?
    got the emperors head as only special item, nothing though

    There is only an achievement for defeating the Black Obelisk battle, not for obtaining a legendary item. If you defeated the obelisk and didnt get an achievement, thats a bug.

    How can we get battle brothers save screens ?

    Not sure what you mean exactly…the retirement screens?

    It’s so fun to mess around with BB assets!

    Actually most of the picture looks unfinished if you ask me :) I just could not spend any more time on that, so I guess we have to live with it :)

    That roman-esk suit is super bloody cool though, how long does an armour set like that take Paul?

    Including search for reference etc around 2-3 workdays.

    Will new faces be added?

    I think the existing ones have to suffice for launch. In a perfect world I would just add more of everything.

    What happened to the mercenary women?

    We had a lot of internal discussion on that. We still think it would add a lot to the game, but as you all know we are working on a very tight schedule. Apart from graphical assets and audio recordings we have a problem with all the quest and event texts in the game. Most of them are randomly generated and refer to certain persons of your party. If we had female mercs we would have to go through all of the text (more than 200 000 words) and assure that everything works for male and female persons and provide different variations of the same text for each gender.
    Thats a lot of work we cant spend right now unfortunately.

    What happened on the battlefields in the camps

    As you know i already spent some work on that and for me personally its the only thing I really regret not getting into the game in time.
    There are two big issues with combat objects. First its the depiction of multi-tile objects which is something our engine is not capable of without some veryt tricky and time consuming workarounds.
    Secondly think about how tedious fights in the forests already are. A graveyard with lots of tombstones would basicaly become a maze to navigate und take away from the fluid combat experience of an open field.

    Apart from these issues we would totally love to have these combat objects, but just did not have the time to do so.

    The white-black is a faction troops versions with tabard. You can’t loot(they revert to normal one)

    Exactly, they can be looted like any other armor, but they loose their tabbard.

    For the legendary gear no one has found, is it event related or found in a hidden location like the Black Monolith legendary.

    Hey Shadow,
    I don’t have the the time to create proper templates, so you’ll have to work with the original files.
    I never work in black and white, so all of the banners are colored already. Nevertheless it should be possible to create new banners with the provided assets.
    The files may be a bit crowded at first glance, but I’m sure you’ll figure them out :)

    P.S. Is there any chance of us getting back some various-color paint on metal armors, or at least the helmets?

    I had a little chat about this with the other guys yesterday and it’s still a possibilit that I will manage to squeeze in some painted helmets.

    Is that the only legendary set currently in the game?

    No, there is one more helmet, one more armor and one accessory in the game. Nobody found them yet as far as I know.

    Haha I just painted icons for three backgrounds that I didnt even know we have in the game :)

    From left to right Assasin, Crusader and Orcslayer. You cannot hire these like other backgrounds though.
