Agreed, goblins are the most annoying thing in this game (and have been for a while), to a point where i simply avoid them completely.

    Hey there,
the contracts available to you basically depend on your reknown. We are filling in more and more contratcs with regular updates from now on, so you will get more to do.
Tip: You can accept a contract, negotiate payment and then say you need some time to think about it. This will put the contract on hold and you can return to it to finally accept or you can just click on another contract.

    Cheers

It would be wonderful if there was a short summary on first screen when you select a contract that said what it was “kill orcs at location X” for example, and then a “go back” button in the bottom. That way i can quickly say what it is that i just found, and i can go back and save game before i do other stuff.

Also speaking of important information, i think its time to add some of that to the recruitment system. The way i used to do it before was clear save game abuse, where i would endlessly reload until i rolled brothers with great stats and traits (both starting and recruitable).

It doesnt seem you can do that for recrtuitable brothers any more, however, it would still be nice if the game showed us advanced information about person we are about to hire. Their stats and most important of all their traits.

And speaking of traits, IMO the way they are now – some are clearly awesome and some are stupidly debilitating – is just bad. If you insist on having powerful traits, then at least make sure that each one leads to something different; if they have a huge penalty to HP, then add something that makes up for it, a unique skill or something. The way its set now, i simply have to save game, hire people i might want, check their stats, reload game and hire those who pass my criteria. It would be so much easier if i had that information in recruitment screen.

Yup contracts need basic utility functions that convey critical information to players so we can make informed decisions.

Forcing me to save game every time i run into available mission, just to be safe, is not a good design.

I had a problem of a quest sending me to a location, and every time i would enter location game would just freeze on loading (basically crashing). After reloading several times, just as i was about to report it, i managed to enter the location by changing the angle of approach (i loaded save game, walked around a bit and then tried it and it worked). Obviously its not a solution but it may help you so you dont get stuck.

    I’ll look into it tomorrow.

Sure thing, if you happen to be in need of assistance feel free to contact me, i have years of beta testing experience, and i added you earlier on steam (you were looking for help with some bug).

Should work better with the update that just went live.

Nope. In fact it seems even more bugged.

1.) Im not getting the negotiated sum at all (im getting less)
2.) I dont think im getting per head sum at all
3.) Still only 1 party is being counted, and ive removed 4 bandit groups (although only 1 was directly on the road when i caught them).

Heres a save game where you can test collecting reward.

    Same here.

And on top i killed 4 groups, but only 1 was on the road itself, the other 3 ran away sideways, and they didnt count.

It looks like im getting a lot more contracts now, pretty much every or every other town has 1. Maybe it just takes some in game days to pass.

There are 2 things i didnt like:

-My first game there are way too few contracts (i run into 1 contract every couple of towns i visit, like 3 or 4, sometimes more). There should be a lot more contracts everywhere. The problem with this game is when you dont have an immediate task, youre sorta just wondering aimlessly.

-The other thing i dont like is the contract interface; there is too little information before you open the contract, and i happened to run into one i wasnt sure i could fulfill so i wanted to go back and save game before i accepted it – nope – if you close the contract without accepting it, it disappears.

-IMO map could use more objects, places to visit or interact with between towns. Lone taverns, or smaller hamlets, anything. Going down a road for 5 minutes is boring.

I just replied to you in another thread, but in short:

There arent many contracts (so far i ran into 1 for every 3 or 4 towns i visited).
The interface is lacking (you cant tell which contract you just ran into, and you cant go back to save game before you take it, as it disappears).
If there is an available contract youll see a parchment in the upper left corner of the base settlement screen.

I think one of the problems is that maybe better contracts require some events to unfold? (like “go burn down map location X for 1000 coins” maybe requires a party from that location to do something to that town)

how did you guys get contracts? I can’t find any “available contract” button on any screen in any settlement

Move between settlements, when there is a contract youll see a parchment in upper left corner of the screen.

There arent many of them, maybe 1 in every 3 or 4 towns i visit, and the interface is pretty bad (theres no way to quickly tell whether you want a mission or not, you have to read each one, you cant go back to save game before you take a mission because it disappears etc)

    Just to clarify:

It looks like you set things in such a way that when we load save game world needs to “update”. There are two problems here, first is that this updating isnt done while loading the actual save (we need to let some time pass for things to appear) and second when this update happens the parties that were in battle seem to re-issue battle command – so if autosave spawns me on top of caravan (friendly) being attacked by orcs (hostiles), i get called into battle the same way when you attack multiple small bandit stacks they all get called into a single battle if they are nearby.

It looks like its not just that city, i think the save game might have gotten corrupted, now im getting same issue in all cities (however in other cities i can open recruitment screen, i just dont get any tooltips at all).
