Someone else reported success on using the ‘-gl30’ command line parameter with their Intel HD Graphics 3000, should be worth a try.

According to your DxDiag.txt, your video drivers are from 2010. I suggest you update to the most recent version from 2013 here.

If you have “PlaysTV” installed and running, close it before running Battle Brothers. It comes packaged with some video drivers if you don’t uncheck some checkbox, so you may not even be aware that you have it.

According to your DxDiag, your video driver is from 2010. You can find updated drivers for your ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 here that add support for OpenGL 3.3 and beyond.

Try starting the game from outside Steam. Do you get some kind of error message then? Can you attach the game’s logfile here?
