The item isn’t lost – it’s placed in the inventory underneath the portrait, as if the portrait weren’t there. You can get to it by scrolling down the inventory list or using the sort function. Still something that needs to be fixed, of course :)

Hi there. There’s two more things you could try.

1. Add the game to the exception list of your anti-virus solution or disable it temporarily.
2. Start the game with admin rights (from outside Steam, but with Steam running).

You could also zip and then attach here the game’s logfile for me to take a look at. You’ll find at ‘My Documents\Battle Brothers’ – it’s called ‘log.html’.

Try right-clicking the Battle Brothers executable, select ‘Properties’. Go to the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check ‘Disable display scaling on high DPI settings’. Does that do anything?

Not ideal, but changing the desktop resolution and then running Battle Brothers in windowed (or borderless windowed) mode doesn’t help, either?

Hey there.

This should be caused by a video setting on your computer, not the game itself. I vaguely recall having a similar issue at first when playing older games on my widescreen monitor – so this may also be a setting of your monitor, or software of your monitor manufacturer.
