Might be a little late to the party, but I love the addition of location appropriate battle terrain but I was a bit sad to see that nothing like that was done for villages and towns.
I’m aware that big buildings are off limits due to engine restrictions but I don’t think big buildings would even be necessary.
Here are some ideas that I think could add a lot to the atmosphere of the game:1.) Fighting in a wheat field with lots of high grass to hide inside
2.) Fighting in a fenced in pasture with a bit of cow dung on the ground.
3.) Fighting in a market area with food stands and various other small attractions, and a lot of cobblestone (with a bit more visual variation).
4.) Dirt roads in addition to cobble stone roads. Maybe with some street signs, or lamp posts / torches. Lamp posts could provide vision bonus during the night.
Some of the terrain that we already have, like pallisades, barrels etc. could also find its way in.
I hope terrain is something that can be revisited at some point.
12. March 2021 at 22:35 #27624JCSatoParticipantHey Paul! I was wondering if I could get higher-res versions of the Barbute, Assassin Mask, and Nomad Light Helmets. I’ve been kitbashing some additional equipment into the game, but have found that it’s really hard to get designs and paint patterns right using 1x assets (they always look a little “pixel-y”. I’ve seen most other helmets at 2x size in this thread, but couldn’t find those ones.

thanks for the kind words. There are quite some challenges to overcome these days, but overall we are doing fine.
As you suspected, there’s no new info I can give you at the moment except that we are very busy.

August 2021 at 06:17 #27885JCSatoParticipantHey Paul, another random request, if and when you find the time – could you show some of the blazing deserts AI faction banners (City-states, Nomads)? The ones available in game are pretty low-res (which makes sense, they only show up on the world map in-game) but there are some pretty intricate designs and it’d be cool to see them closer up.
