This is beautiful work Paul, I love when you use unique gear in your work! Does the guy with the bill hook have a hand injury?

Yeah, I guess he tried to feed a direwolf or something :)
3. February 2017 at 16:56 #19134arteofwarParticipantHaha, maybe when a battle brother is killed by a direwolf you can get a “feed a direwolf” achievement.
4. February 2017 at 08:12 #19136SuperCaffeineDudeParticipantThat’s interesting dude, a shame it doesn’t work too well making distinct colour differences.
But what’s with the southfarthing hobbits smuggling their pipeweed over the border, think of the children!
Nah looks great, the billman looks particularly good!4. February 2017 at 12:13 #19138WargasmParticipantDoes this indicate that there’ll be some performance-enhancing snuffs available to buy from settlements after the next update?
4. February 2017 at 15:21 #19141Love GunParticipantThe pipe is back! rejoice :)
*rejoices*
Excellent work!
Though I have to say that this golden necklace does not look good in combination with the coat of plates.
It may also be a funny idea to add the direwolf stole (of the direwolf armors) to the mix of the noble/questgiver attire.

i like it….
reminds me for -the Sheriff of Nottingham-
6. February 2017 at 20:34 #19151arteofwarParticipantpeople have a short memory in this game. Its funny how you can have a band of mercenaries famous and loved throughout the land and if you disappear for a week or two into the wilds on a ranging campaign, you come back and ever ones like “who the hell are these guys?”
7. February 2017 at 20:00 #19152Grove_KnightParticipantJust watched the time lapse of your art Paul, really amazing stuff! Would you ever consider making tutorials? I’d love to be able to make art like your Battle Brothers stuff for my own stories (maybe even mod potential in the future :D).
8. February 2017 at 11:13 #19153PsenBattleKeymasterWould you ever consider making tutorials?
Nice to hear that you like my stuff!
It would be fun for sure. Of course right now I dont have the time to start something like that, but in the future, why not?
Allthough I wouldnt know where to start. The workflow is very different depending on what assets I am painting: Artworks, Icons, Busts etc.
On the other hand it would also be possible to do some general painting tutorial stuff, but I think there are better artists (and teachers :)) out there who already offer a lot of free guides. If you have any specific question regarding Battle Brothers art, just shoot!
Cheers
8. February 2017 at 16:40 #19154arteofwarParticipantI agree with grove knight. There may be as you say, better artists and teachers but I and I think many others like your style. I feel it adds the perfect flavor to the game, and seeing the older art compared to now is really amazing. Your process is certainly worthy of being shown and taught, I think many people would get a lot out of it including myself. I have been working on a Viking age board game that takes place around the area of Lofoten Norway, and includes other areas of northern Europe. I have had to start over again a few times because although I love my game concept, I feel that my art was not really conveying the mood that I was looking for. I think your style would be a perfect fit and would like to try and emulate it in my own way, so I would look forward to a tutorial in the future.
For now though, I certainly will continue to enjoy checking this page to see your latest work.9. February 2017 at 03:09 #19165Grove_KnightParticipantThat would be amazing Paul. And yeah I definitely understand where you’re coming from with the different platforms. Honestly starting with something small like the busts and how you design those, your process etc. would be so cool to dive into and learn how you manage it.
Yes, there are plenty of teachers out there… but none have the Battle Brother style (aka the best)! :D
10. February 2017 at 11:56 #19183PsenBattleKeymasterHey guys,
awesome stuff, I gladly take these compliments :)
As I am a completely self taught artist I would really like to let you guys have a share of my experience. I strongly encourage you to just go for it and create your own art. You’ll be making your own games in no time :)
I am thinking about the best way to get started with the tutorials, give me some more time to think about it.The full release is closing in and we are all super busy, so lets see if I find some time.
On a side note, I just created art for five legendary pieces of equipment (two helmets, two armors and one accessory). They’ll be super hard to get and look super badass. This time I wont show anything, so you will have to find these ingame :)
Cheers!
10. February 2017 at 11:58 #19184PsenBattleKeymasterI feel that my art was not really conveying the mood that I was looking for.
If you want to send my some samples I could give you some quick feedback.
Cheers!
