So, Just fired up the Beta Update, survived the introductory fight and …
Fanshire has a sweet magical BLUE glow!
Thanks very much, Paul!
In a single player game, there's no such thing as cheating. It's merely "creative manipulation of the default settings"!

Yeah, that glow took me 2 weeks of work :)
Just kidding….
Hey, after publishing the beta of the final update I can finally move back to painting event pics.Cheers!!
23. February 2017 at 18:28 #19440RahzielParticipantHooray to m0Ar illustrated events!

While I certainly disagree that every other fantasy battle needs to be in a hole in the ground a prisonbreak or a bandits raiding a mine contract would be cool for an alternative map.

Its a dungeon indeed.
We use some events and illustrations to show people things that we cant show with normal ingame assets. If you take a closer look theres also a horse in the second pic and a woman in the third :)
All of these things of course exist in the battle brothers world but are not represented by combat map assets.24. February 2017 at 18:07 #19528MalthusParticipantI really hope the release of your finished game will be a financial success. I know you were forced to cut some really cool things for time and budged reasons. It would be a shame to let this game in the state it is now. Don´t get me wrong. I love it and it is a great game. But after seeing your previews for battlefield objects it was a big disapointment to hear you had to cut it out. I would love to see future expansions that push this game from great to perfect :)
"I am a Paladin!"
>OMG, Malthus, there are no damn paladins in Battle Brothers...<
"OK, OK! Then I´m a wrecked down minstrel drunkard pretending to be a paladin, singing so wrong in the midst of battle that even the undead run in fear... Better?!"24. February 2017 at 18:33 #19527GuiflickParticipantHey Paul do you think we will ever see something like these in game ? I would be very cool, both of them would be awesome to have, need to try new tactics and i would give even more life to the game I think.
24. February 2017 at 18:35 #19533PsenBattleKeymasterBut after seeing your previews for battlefield objects it was a big disapointment to hear you had to cut it out.
Yeah, that was a really hard cut, especially for me :(
We will see what the future holds!Hey Paul do you think we will ever see something like these in game ?
Never say never, but at least for the release it wont happen ;( ;(
24. February 2017 at 18:48 #19534GuiflickParticipantThat’s a shame but as Malthus said we fans are hoping that the game sells thousands and thousands, this great game cant stop here!
25. February 2017 at 00:46 #19555AgathoclesParticipantAll the new additions to the beta are fantastic, I’m loving the reworked undead faction and I’ve learned not to mess with the legionaries and honor guard in the early game. The orderly formations, the massive shields and pikes and the complete disregard for fear and fatigue are reasons enough but I’ll be back with some of my own. Just not spears, that was a terrible idea…
Good luck with the future of the game, it was great watching the game since its early versions and how it has shaped since then. Definitely one of the games I wouldn’t mind having an expansion for.26. February 2017 at 15:51 #19617YolanParticipantLong time player. Just want to say that I love your art Paul. The style you guys have achieved is something of an ideal for me, and an inspiration for my own indie devving work (www.innkeepgame.com).
Wishing you guys success with the release of Battle Brothers. I’m in completely agreement with Agathocles. The game is looking great.
