Hey guys,
Sorry for not replying all week. While absorbed working I sometimes actually forget that I activated this forum again :)Regarding the Unholds I’ll ry to make them a little more distinct – if I find the time. Apart from working on new stuff I try to squeeze in a few reworks of older assets I dont like anymore.
And by the way, of curse they can’t be CCed. The only effect that can be applied is “dazed” by the new maces as far as I know. The suggestion to add a few more human faces came up repeatedly and I will see what I can do – no promises though!
Here’s a little rework of the greatsword I did so that it actualy deserves its name. The old asset was one of the first weapons painted roughly 5 years ago.
31. August 2018 at 14:33 #22774RusBearParticipantPaul. after all this years together, after all this sh.. things we saw and all this goblins with knives… 1 unique double blade battle axe, please. I know – you can do this!
31. August 2018 at 16:22 #22775juanvalParticipantThe armor of the guy wearing the greatsword is new, right?
I’m not a fan of 2 handed weapons for my first line men (long live to shields), but it will be a pleasure to destroy enemies who wear them.

It looks like Hardened Leather Armor plus Norse Nasal Helmet.
Both are unique items.3. September 2018 at 14:43 #22801PsenBattleKeymaster1 unique double blade battle axe, please. I know – you can do this!
Hehe. I can try to squeeze in a named Orc Mansplitter Axe. If I really manage to do it remains to be seen :)
The Armor of the Greatsword guy is already in the game. It’s a named armor:
While working on some new Armors I decided to work over the lamellar armors. I always thought they’re hard to read and have a strange shape in general.
Here are the new versions (lower row):
3. September 2018 at 17:00 #22803kemParticipantCan we have both versions of the asset (old&new) ingame for better aestetic diversity?
3. September 2018 at 17:40 #22804IociParticipantWOW! I like it! But I also like the old one a lot. The old one looks like the one I saw in GOT, and it’s classsiiic!
3. September 2018 at 22:03 #22805MalthusParticipantYeah I agree with the others. Even if you deem the old assets “inferior” we like them nonetheless and having the new ones in addition for more diversity would be a really nice thing without an additional cost. Why throw them away when they are still looking great?
You could still use them for rare named armor and weapons if you take them out of the standard variants. Or let the old great sword only be available from that one random event with the old man’s funeral. Just a random idea.
"I am a Paladin!"
>OMG, Malthus, there are no damn paladins in Battle Brothers...<
"OK, OK! Then I´m a wrecked down minstrel drunkard pretending to be a paladin, singing so wrong in the midst of battle that even the undead run in fear... Better?!"4. September 2018 at 04:26 #22806WargasmParticipantOr the old sword could still be carried by Fallen Heroes.
4. September 2018 at 09:46 #22809SarissofoiParticipantCan we have both versions of the asset (old&new) ingame for better aestetic diversity?
It would be great to have both version of armors in game. We already have some armors or helmets with the same stats and name and different looks so it shouldn’t be to hard to implement.
To be honest having the new(and old) version of armor with different colored tunic and belt(scarf) like green/blue and red would be great for diversity.4. September 2018 at 12:48 #22812Stefan HawkinsParticipantI agree, I’d love to have both versions of armors and weapons, it would just add diversity, they could still have the same stats.
4. September 2018 at 20:21 #22814ForceEchoParticipantLOL,
I actually must agree with the others Paul, I like both versions hahaha include them all in game please :P
It seems everyone likes your old work too! It’s not you fault Paul, you can’t help being an amazing artist !"A plethora of peasents"
5. September 2018 at 09:14 #22819juanvalParticipantI would have a lot of fun if I had the talent of drawing those beautiful armors. The 4 lamellar armours are perfect for BB.
It would be great to see one friday update about new armors and helmets ;)

I’m not a fan of the old assets, but you almost got me. I’ll think about it :)

This Friday will have an even more interesting topic: The new Crafting System.
Nevertheless there will be a post about new armors as well at some point.13. September 2018 at 12:11 #22909LasseFinParticipantCan’t say I’m a huge fan of the redesigned greatsword, I’ve always enjoyed and appreciated your adherence to the High Medieval 13th/14th century weapon and armor designs inspired by manuscripts like Maciejowski Bible, being a pedantic historical freak. That new sword is like the elephant in the room, it’s clearly a renaissance design and would only exist in the 16th century which is 200-300 years later.
The old sword design looks plausible for 13th/14th century, but the new design is basically out of the realm of possibly.
