More diverse and special battleground. It would really help the immersion part of this game if when fighting on a graveyard (which happens pretty often considering how many “graverobber” contracts we get) the tileset would reflect that. The same is true for the different encampment types as well as cities, castles and villages.
And something really new could be dungeon locations where fights do not happen outsite but inside a specific location. Imagine having to fight something like a troll inside a cave, or vampires inside their catacombs.

I already suggested these two ideas, perhaps it is just too much work to create additional tilesets. Maybe we will see more in BB2.

Also the game mecanics doesn’t allow to choose paths with the most advantageous hexes and courses to move. The tactical side of the game suffers from it.

This issue has been brought up before, and I agree it should be corrected if possible.

I think Kraken being a swamp based rather than sea based creature and the design choices are the banner make sense.

One think that irks me and I think from an art point of view could be improved upon is – one of the maritime
based small features in Battle Brothers, the mermaid based company banner ! I was starting a new game recently and
an onlooker that doesn’t play video games watched me create the company. They burst out laughing at the mermaid
banner and said it looked silly. I don’t like to be critical but to be honest I always thought it was a bit immersion
breaking because the quality was pretty poor compared to other banners !

The mermaid banner would make sense if the plan was to eventually incorporate shipborn combat of some sort into the game. However after seeing the Kraken appear as a swamp boss gives me doubt that any adventure while escorting a trade ship from port to port will happen. Maybe in BB2 will the Kraken find a revised role in the future as the rightful menace of the seas where it belongs, along with sea raiders and drowned undead to challenge your company of brothers, as if getting sea sick wasn’t enough!

The beast has been laid low! That’s a nice touch, wearing a heater shield on your back. That gambeson must weigh a ton when it gets wet, the expression of exhaustion on his face is very appropriate!

I haven’t found any morningstars in game yet, any plans to add some to the “mace” class?

*many – my mistake. BTW, the new artwork looks top notch!

Theres also a glitch where you accept a caravan mission in a port settlement, and before exiting the settlement, take a ship to another port settlement. When you exit the destination settlement, you are instantly teleported back to the original settlemnt, and resume your caravan escort duty.

There’s nothing preventing Nachzehrers from swallowing noble house troops, but they may choose to save it for more dangerous opponents (i.e. you). Nachzehrers can’t retreat from the battlefield anymore once they have swallowed someone.

Thanks for the reply Rap. That makes sense, since it’s a one-shot ability, use it on high value targets only. So at one time, they could retreat? I kinda like the added desperation of saving your brother at all costs, lest he become a free lunch. I wonder what would happen if all your brothers were to be swallowed simultaneously, would the battle end in total defeat, game over thanks for playing? I’ll have to try that out sometime.

I just thought of something, and this is meant for anyone including devs if they wish to answer. What if you flee the bounty hunter battle, will you still get the bonus for the head when you return to the settlement?

With the recent talk of sallets, here’s one that you may find aesthetically appealing, although it dates to around the 15th century.
    The “Lobster Tail” sallet.

Adding a 3X combat speed would be a welcome improvement during big battles!

(Edit) Should have mentioned that having the interface on the battle screen would make switching speeds on the fly easy, e.g. Turn 1 – 30+ enemies moving to engage your bro’s, set speed to 3X. Turn 3 onward – set speed to 2X.

This brings up a good point. If you could target any hex within your range(not just visible enemies), you could shoot at bushes or tall grass you suspect enemies to be hiding in. In other words, shoot into bushes you’ve seen enemies move into. Hold Ctrl before Left click while aiming ranged and reach weapons to highlight any hexes in your range.

Yes but optics and lenses date far back. I don’t think it’s impossible to imagine some sort of device that corrects or enhances vision.

Around 700BCE is the first known example of lenses.
