    What we will try to implement at least is a two-layer system for shields. So even though we cant recreate all banners, we we can at least show color and emblem in different combinations.

    We`ll see about the axes as banner emblems. Why not? :)

    will we be seeing different breeds of dogs in the future, or will we largely be seeing color variations as we do presently?

    Different breeds are not planned yet but we have the idea for a “kennel” building in the towns where you could get special wardogs. If we implement the kennel, chances are pretty high we will also put some more work into the wardogs across the board.
    But I mention again: until we get the whole worldmap rework done, nothing else will be touched :)

    if custom banners are eventually added, will there be plans to have shields available that somewhat match the banners?

    If we really go for the custom banner generator, according shields will most probably not be possible. As we dont have textures like a 3d game we cant just take the custom banner and paste it onto any shield as a texture.
    Therefore I have to create according shields as sprites. The generator I designed allows for hundreds of combinations which would be way too much work.
    Otherwise if we just add a wide variety of predesigned shields (like mount and blade) according shields would be possible.
    We have not decided how to approach this yet.

    Will be bascinets be in the game or are they too late for the period you are aiming for?

    I decided to not implement them for now. Allthough I know that there are other inconsistencies already (Billhook, Warhammer…).
    I wont promise anything but there is a chance they’ll make it in eventually.

    Also will there be crests on some of the helmets?

    Thats the plan :) I wont tackle this before the faction rework for the worldmap. We have to come up with a good system to allow as many color/emblem/shields/coats combinations as possible without causing too much work. After I exactly know how the factions will look like I can add some eye candy for special characters.

    And last will there be some kind of pseudo-christianity or other religion in the world of BB?

    There are already references to a pseudo christian belief (monk background for example) and other religions (cultist background). We decided to keep the infos on these religions vague for now as we dont feel religion should play a big part in the game.
    This may change with future expansions though.

    The Wolf Mail is not in yet.

    Well I just found out that this is wrong :) The armor is in and can be dropped by Bandit Leaders.

    Is this Werewolf Mail armour in game and can be obtained by any means?

    The Wolf Mail is not in yet. The according Event has not been implemented. Cant give you an ETA as we are frying some bigger fish at the moment :)

    What do you think about making separate weapon skills for 1 hand weapon when they are used as two handers

    The perk rework will cover exactly this. But first things first, that means: worldmap rework > perk rework.

    1. named weapons : spear, 2 hand swords, halberds.
    We will have to see what exactly happens to the “named weapons”. If we stick to the concept there will be weapons for all categories. But its also possible that we change the whole named weapons system around. Cant tell you yet.
    2. named armor except wolf.
    I guess before we also implement named armors, we would rather go for legendary armors directly.
    3. are there plans to increase the durability of all the named things ?
    Not at the moment, I can drop that to the other guys.
    4. will we see long bow and two-handed Mace?
    Cant tell you when, but these are two are pretty high up on my personal whishlist.
    5. and most importantly : horned helmets on the Northern faction and brothels in the capital:)
    Dont know about brothels yet, but taverns will be in (more info on that in our next worldmap-blogpost).
    Horned helmets:
    Maybe something extraordinary happens to make me paint horned helmets (like a meteor hitting me on the head :)). Another possibility would be having me abducted by aliens and replaced by an android. Apart from that the chances are pretty slim that there will ever be brothers with horned helmets :)

    Regarding the Heraldic mail heres some clarification: It is not buyable at the moment, but only drops from knights.
    Of course the militia and landsknechts are not attackable yet, but that will change with the worldmap update.

    It was really cool deign. I can’t find it in shops anywhere. Did it get cut off from the game?

    It’s supposed to be still in, allthough extremely rare. The asset is not going to be removed :)
    The availability and some variations of it will be tweaked a lot during the worldmap rework.
    Just let me mention again that its not the strongest armor anymore, its close to the normal mail hauberks now.

    I like the undead crusaders. I also think its an intriguing idea to connect their return from the graves to a certain event/history like a plague or something special.
    Teutonic knights per se are not planned yet. What we are discussing right now is the visual/lore differences between the human factions. Its pretty likely that one of these factions will have a very “knightly” style.

    This topic is still heavily under discussion, so nothing set in stone here.

    Dont be scared, its only a visual rework…for now :)
    When we do the proper rework both zombies and skeletons will get new units. The most prominet ones are their bosses: lich and zombie duke. Allthough the duke might be replaced by something entirely different.

    The ghouls will get a few more units just like the werwolves to turn them into proper mini factions. A matriarch of some kind is very probable for the ghouls. The wolves might feature half mutated humanlike werewolves as low tier units.

    The red eyeballs are used for the zombie dukes buff spell atm. It depends on the skills the lich will have if they show on skeletons as well.

    The axe on the first screenshot obviously doesnt match, thats a bug, I will see to fix that.
    The reason why some of the axes have their blade downward is so that they look like you carry them on your shoulder. However when in combat the blade would of course have to be turned towards the striking direction.
    I see if I can change that.

    Do you plan add undead necromancers or liches to the game?

    Yeah, the Lich is crawling around in our game design document for almost 2 years now haha. He’ll make it in someday.

    Also do you plan add some subfactions in undead?

    We already discussed splitting up the factions between zombies and skeletons. We have soo many ideas that we could easily create various factions out of these, but dont have the time to reaize verything at the same time.
    The ghouls most probably will be moved to the beast faction.

    btw: The Vampire lord has been painted ages ago, but never got implemented
