Damn that’s crazy! Guess I just need to change my strategy.
tbeaz161ParticipantThe Bloody Dawn. Utilizing the banner with a hand reaching up over a sun.
No matter what happens the Dawn will always come.
tbeaz161ParticipantI think events for brothers who are close to max levels might be good, I feel like if you had too many it would just be one more thing you click through without reading after a brother dies and thus would lose it’s effect.
I think gravestones might make things too cluttered atleast considering my personal survival rate :p
tbeaz161ParticipantAccording to the FAQ this is planned: http://battlebrothersgame.com/battle-brothers-faq/
tbeaz161ParticipantIs it normal to sometimes also get characters with negative range defense?
tbeaz161ParticipantI think a great thing would be to have contracts attacking another kingdom. As a mercenary company it may hurt your prestige and trust if you were to attack caravans or sack a village. While if you were contracted by a kingdom to harass an enemies caravans you would take a relationship hit with the victimized kingdom but your reputation as a mercenary company would not go down as you are simply doing what you were payed to do. You could even then be later hired by the previous kingdom to get revenge on your old employers.
tbeaz161ParticipantI also do not like the current system of having this faceless, nameless, and personality-less commander as some people have pointed out already. I would like that you could customize one or all of your brothers at the start. Then have them or whoever you selected start out as the commander who represents your party on the world map/quests/events.
Obviously you would not want their death to be game over. Instead you could choose who the successor be, or have them elected from your brothers based on: who’s been around the longest, the brother with most experience, traits, or some combination of all them.
tbeaz161ParticipantYeah I also do not like the commander character. Mercenary companies are really handed down from one man to the next, you don’t really need a figurehead.
It would be cool to have your most skilled, or perhaps brother with the most time serving the company act as your envoy in things like quests or on the world map. You could have it be voluntary so you select who is the current commander and they give a morale bonus to the people around them, but if they die in battle it is a big hit to morale.
tbeaz161ParticipantI like you’re stronghold suggestion and was thinking about it. Mercenaries tend to be very roam-heavy. So if not a stronghold I could see some kind of upgrade-able baggage train/ camp.
Due to the decent amount of flavour text on stuff like the flagellant and the monk I can see religion getting more added to it (maybe a cthuluesque old god enemy faction?)
I’m not really a fan of the Alchemist because it seems kind too fantasy for the girtty theme of the battle brothers, I could potentially see another faction using it though!
