    Love the new assets! In case of lamellar armor – Man, +1 to keeping the old assets as well! Actually, I loved them.

    And about platemail, full plate, cuirasses, salets etc etc. do you guys consider a possibility for future DLC(or expansion, as I’d call it) with “rare” (maybe unlockable by some kind of quests?) merchants selling such stuff? Regional armor and weapons + late medieval things. Some people are crying for that.

    I’m pretty sure even with “optional DLC” giving access to another tier of items you’d make a ton of money and a lot of people would get satisfied. Adding 8-10 new sets of armor, few helmet variants and some new weapon assets shouldn’t become loads of works. They do such stuff to Conan Exiles and people are actually buying those DLC’s.

    Got anything to show? What are you working on at the moment?

    My opinion on the kraken banner:
    I am a little disappointed in the standard design. I would have liked it more, if it had been more of an original design, instead of an amalgamation of already existing designs of standards.
    It should have been something special, especially since it is the reward for supporters.

    Some ideas:
    Since the kraken is a creature of the sea a maritime design would have been natural.
    The pole could be made of an oar,
    a figurehead

    (A slimmer example; more believable for a battle standard)

    or, even way cooler made of the tusk of a Narwhal

    or the saw of a Sawfish.

    The cloth could be eroded by sea water and matted with salt.
    Further decoration elements could be, shells, dried seeweed/starfish/seahorse, corals, part of a fishnet, fishbones, teeth/the jaw of a shark or a fancy sailor’s knot.

    Sorry for offtop! Im fan of this game and news of future dlc give second wind to me!1. I think game needed normal tower shield, thats will looked wonderfool with new options, and if you raise effective of spears -it added new working builds and increase gamers pleasure (real shieldwall agains orcs- soooo coool).2 add 3-5 banners for our company- its very important somethink simple banners black sun maybe or cool skull or eagle. 3. game Having so many monsters and so little variations of people. All items have 1 style and one very important item(helment like a viking) is rare. game have Only two helment in game in many variations. If i want create viking company or Mahakam army from witcher or many other variant i will cry. But this game a fantastic. Thank you for attention!

    also helmets with tail. and my main juicy-powerful-bomb idea is war paint on face like a cultists maybe, but it must make in barbershop in town!

    “IF” there will be another DLC, chances are very high for regionally different Items. Chances for late medieval stuff like (Platemail etc) however are very low.
    As I learned in the past, never say never though….

    When making a DLC we would rather try to expand the BB world as a whole and implement new mechanics to unlock more of its potential.

    It’s a tough fight, but I’m still alive and kicking :)

    Since the kraken is a creature of the sea a maritime design would have been natural.

    Actually our Kraken has a bit of a different backstory and is an inhabitant of swamps, rather than the sea. In our latest Blog Post there’s some more info on it if you are interested: Kraken Blog

    Considering our Krakens habitat it would’nt really make sense to use any maritime symbolism.
    In the case our our Banner the use of the kraken is just a symbol of strength, like a lion for example. I focussed on making it look like an intimidating banner a mercenary company would actually field. That’s why it is a lot darker than most of the earlier banners.
    Up until now no mercenary banner uses any “makeshift” materials. This is important to disntinguish the banners of different factions and underline their character. The bandits for example only use makeshift materials for their standards:

    I hope this explains a bit why the banner looks the way it looks.

    Hey Varhagen,
    actually we already have tower shields ingame, used by and lootable of the “Ancient Dead” faction.

    Regarding the banners, more is always cool. The problem is, more of everything is cool. So what is more important, more weapons, more armor, more enemies, more banners, more shiels, more locations…?
    It’s hard to answer :) We are only 3 people, so we have to be very careful where we invest our time.

    Regarding the helmets, we managed to get 107 different helmets into the game (not counting colour variations), bearing in mind I am the only artist on the team, that’s an okay number :)

    Hey Oh Brother,
    you must have been pretty unlucky, because the morning star isn’t that rare at all in the game.
    Here’s the mace class progression in the top row.
    The bottom row are the two handed maces which we will add with the DLC.

    The beast has been laid low! That’s a nice touch, wearing a heater shield on your back. That gambeson must weigh a ton when it gets wet, the expression of exhaustion on his face is very appropriate!
