Marsh The MuddyParticipant
What if you could buy “upgrades” for your team? Maybe in the beginning the limit would be 8 mercenaries and then buy a caravan that would slow you down, but increase the limit on both mercenaries and items? Then maybe buy non-combat horses for increased speed on the worldmap? There are many things to list, but it would be as I said a “steady platform”…
Marsh The MuddyParticipantWhen you get a delivery quest, there is a chance that some mercenaries will attack you to get the super secret artefact you are hauling…
Also, when you happen to slay a bandit leader, you take his head to get a bounty, but you could get ambushed by bounty hunters…
They are pretty rare (only happened to me one time for each), but they are not super strong… They have stuff like boar spears and falchions and usually have mail shirt-level armor…Marsh The MuddyParticipantLove this idea… Why is it not in the game already?
The developers said that there would be non combat brothers to help outside of the battlefield, but the skills seem even better… It would also be a steady platform for adding more brothers to the rooster, and even implement more events such as crafting, brewing and training…Marsh The MuddyParticipantOh? Attack them? I’ve been trying all this time to improve relations with a house when all I had to do is be mean to them a few times? Well then… So much for being friends… CHARGE!!!
Marsh The MuddyParticipantI have seen this bug in previous versions, but I saw 3 different flags: The blue one, the red one (that all the enemies get) and a black one with a skull…
Marsh The MuddyParticipantYes! Shield customization would be awesome… Along with armor (Like all the footmen have)
Marsh The MuddyParticipantHow did you get those shields? Do you need to be on a good relation with a noble house to get their equipment?
Marsh The MuddyParticipantI’m not a very experienced or “old” player of Battle Brothers, but I can say that I, at least know what all this is about…
From an aesthetic point of view, I absolutely LOVE the idea of getting personalized equipment, and one of the ideas I came up with was adding two more equipment slots: one for the hat decoration (if hat allows, like the Full Helmet), and the other for a very thin layer of cloth with perhaps colors and patterns (that could also maybe give a very small amount of protection like 10 body armor).
As to the whole level up thing, I’ve got two ideas…
The first one is that the mercenary could get a “promotion” at set levels. For example, a new mercenary (level 1) could have a “Rookie” rank, and if he survives to reach level 3, he could get the “Footman” rank, a very high chance of getting the max stat (just for that level-up).
The second one is that if the mercenary reaches a certain rank, he could even get bonuses for using a certain weapon (say the mercenary reaches level 3 rank Footman and he can choose to be a Swordsman with bonus bleeding damage, a Spearman with even more bonus hit chance, a Double-handed sword user with bonus chances to hit the head, and the list goes on…). I just can’t help but imagine a third page on every mercenary (after the equipment and perks) whith the silhouettes of every “Class” that also say their bonuses and maybe some lore…
Anyway…
Sorry for the VERY long post, but I guess some opinions are always welcome?Marsh The MuddyParticipantJust at 4:19 – 4:20 He says: “This is the temple… Umm… That will be added later.”
Marsh The MuddyParticipantI just said you’re Canadian because you seem so polite… And I really ment what I said… Keep doing what you’re doing!
And also… I wouldn’t say you’re far from being as good as Mark Twain!Marsh The MuddyParticipantReally cool story…
I’ve been reading your stories ever since you started and I have to say… You, my good sir, are a man with a novelist’s talent and a child’s soul…
I really hope that most (if not all) of your stories will be included in the game…Also, if I could ask (and I’m not trying to be rude), but are you a Canadian? You just seem so polite and nice… Anyway, getting a little emotional here!
You’re amazing, dude! You really are! Keep it up!
Marsh The MuddyParticipantYou can actually camp…
Just check this Dev Blog: http://battlebrothersgame.com/dev-blog-68-progress-update-the-little-things/
I don’t know about the events, but I think what we have available now is enough…Marsh The MuddyParticipantThat is awesome! I see that you really put much time in thinking and writing all of these ideas…
I have a few objections however…
About points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7:
1.That idea of nets backfireing seems pointless… The idea of professionally trained soldiers trapping themselves… I would say only if they have the clumsy trait…
The ability to cut the net… seems nice!
2.To have a giant sword that deals 100 damage (insta-kill on most humans) that also can ignore armor… Seems too overpowered…
3.This is one of my favorites! I would say however that those contracts should only be available when the settlement is under attack…
4.I would say 4 levels is too much! Maybe 2 at most… They are hedge knights, not old swordsmen…
5.Removing the cap… I don’t think would be a good idea (at least not any time soon)… With the increase, I agree… Maybe level 15 – 17 at most for now…
6.I love the idea of big monsters (ogres, trolls, yetis, giants etc)… No complains here…
7.I just see no use for mounts… In the world map, sure! They could increase your speed… On the battlefield… What?… Horses aren’t killing machines as far as I know…
8.Why not? That sounds good!Marsh The MuddyParticipantWoops! Looks like the picture didn’t upload… My bad!
Let me explain… A village (by the name of Eisenstein) appears to be totally isolated by some mountains… No roads…
On top of that, a small part of the mountain derped up and is shown ON TOP of that village… Strange!
Am am sure that this bug will be fixed(if it is not already) in the next update, but I just wanted to make sure…Attachments:
Marsh The MuddyParticipantWell… I am not a pro at this game or anything, but I kinda like the cleaver… I know it is not as good as a noble sword, but I just like the badass(ness?) of it…
And about the archers: They have one extra tile of range over the crossbows witch can make a little difference in the very first turn…
It happened to me many times: Started a game and on the first turn of the first battle my archer would one-shot a bandit thug with a headshot…
But, in the end, just use whatever you think looks cool… Who cares if that or that deals one extra damage? -
