Beef the Second: I didn’t have any option in mitigating this problem. I would suggesting adding a few choices such as limiting his rations to avoid the trait at the expense of his mood. I’m sure you could think of a few good ones too. Events are great for flavor, except when they come off as unavoidable penalties.
To put it another way: I would suggest avoiding events that don’t give the player a choice. Even if both choices are bad, at least the player is effecting the outcome, further drawing them into the story.

Yup. I warned of EXACTLY this earlier, when events were being anounced. How a lot of angry reviews of The Banner Saga wrote of random events which penalise the player, without him having any influence on the outcome of the events. And it was precisely because of those angry reviews that I decided NOT to buy The Banner Saga, because I hate it when a game randomly puts spanners in the works, when I have tried to carefully manage a team. Just like having a random “Hugo just died of a stroke”, and there goes your lvl9 knight, event thingie… A big no-no!

Ah there it is, thanks. I was looking for it in the Steam game folder.

So far I haven’t had any negative experiences with the new patch. But I do have a bit of an issue with all the new weapons added. While I am in favour of more and more and more item variety always, currently, if a recruit is using something not all that good, it very quickly gets swapped for something better in the nearest town. Perhaps would be better to make weapons a bit less available in shops, so procuring through loot and fixing broken ones would have the brothers make better use of what they started out with?

Also, more easier encounters in the earliest game would be welcome. Small bandit gangs and such, rather than immediatelly be jumped by werewolves, orcs, etc.

Other than that, it seems to be progressing nicely. :)

Latest patch, village militia vs. bandits fight. Seems some militiamen appear without weapons and game terminally freezes.

Excellent! And from an English native editor it should be St.Angela the Toothless 😀 (not teethless) :p

Even if she was without all her teeth, since all were used for holy relics?

    Big ‘yes’ for blacksmith!

If nothing else, I’d love to order armour with a tabbard in colours of my coat of arms, once customisation of the company’s banner is implemented.

Same. Going to save/options menu then back in game fixes it.

That was a very nice read, I have to admit.
    Well done!
I seriously hope we will see another of that kind from you in the future again.

Also, as a quick question: How do you make those awesome screenshots?
Uploads on imgur as .jpg as far as I have seen, but how do you make them in the first place?

    Thanks mate. :)

I take them with F12, the default Steam key for screenshots, then go to Steam screenshots under the Battle Brothers tab, then “show on disk” and open them in photoshop for a bit of editing, cutting, etc. When I like how they look, I save and upload them.

Easiest way to handle it, probably, would be if we were just able to rearrange our guys in the 12 slots available for our guys in the equipment pannel. Currently it’s a bit annoying that all my spearmen start bunched up and being able to move them around in the slots and have that order of guys appear in battle would be cool.

oooh, I love how you attracted the bandits to help you clear the ghouls! Wonderfully done there. Was that on purpose or did you luck out?

On purpose. I saw them chasing me and instead of stopping to fight them, I headed for the undead graveyard and when they were over it, clicked it. Didn’t know it would work so smoothly though.

Unfortunately I have discontinued this campaign, to start a new one with the new gear. So let’s just end this one with:

“And the brave men of the Iron Fist lived happily ever after!”

There’s no such thing as playing too much BB.

Expeditions: Conquistador also had many interesting random events that would occure while camping. Animal attacks, ambushes, finding items, treasures, extra rations, relations between characters, etc, basically, you never knew what the night was going to bring.

I actually agree with Gabbagundam on the weapons/armour ficticiousness.

Although I can easily be considered an ass-kisser to this game and its devs due to my enthusiasm about it, I do agree they made many very strange decisions regarding some weapon stats and effects. Some glaring ones being that swords do no piercing damage, while maces do extra armour damage (they could dent plate armour, but realistically they do absolutly zero damage to chain mail and gambesons), spears are close melee weapons here, so what’s the advantage of pointy metal on a long stick, if you can only fight with it at same range as with a knife?

Here is a bit of a graphic suggestion I sent to the devs before the game was released, where I split weapons not just in piercing, cutting and blunt, but also close melee and distance melee.

Note, this wasn’t meant as a fully historic representation, but just a more logical game interpretation of the various possible weapons, reasons to have them in and their advantages and disadvantages.

Awesome. Did you try playing around with hardware cursor, vsync and stuff again?

Ah yes, vsync on and cursor off seems to make it work normal. Just the opposite from before :)

    Battle Brothers – Update 0.4.0.40
    12. MAI – RAPSDJFF

Most importantly, this update should resolve some issues with poor performance and UI lag that a few players were experiencing.
Please let us know if the issue persists for you despite the changes.

Actually getting a lot more UI lag and slow performance since the last update, than I did previously.
