Those helmets look great, even better than skullcaps :P
Will they work with the paints?
20. November 2018 at 16:57 #23381ForceEchoParticipantHaha you made a sallet !!!! I’m hoping our suggestions around page 94 were the reason lol.
I’m still holding our for my tamed armoured cave unhold in greenskin invasion armies during crisis lel"A plethora of peasents"
20. November 2018 at 20:08 #23382EVANS UAParticipantDear Paul, i would really like to see sallet helmets ingame if it fits your vision, they are super cool, have tons of variants and even closed\opened variants. Below is the variant for you (looks pretty…leather-made to me)

20. November 2018 at 20:29 #23384FozParticipant+1 to sallets with facemask being awesome. They were quite prominent in my favorite game ever as well(darklands). We may be asking for too much though, only two weeks till release and Paul has already provided a lot of requests :P
21. November 2018 at 08:54 #23387JCSatoParticipantYou’re really spoiling us, Paul! The shields and sallet look especially amazing! Thank you!
21. November 2018 at 11:17 #23385JohnParticipantNice! This is what immediately came to mind.
Behold the power of the sallet
Are we also get a visored version and/or throat protection as well? Speaking of visors, it would be neat to also have a visor down version of the Heraldic Bascinet.21. November 2018 at 11:19 #23393PsenBattleKeymasterWill they work with the paints?
Of course:
Regarding Sallets with visor; I totally agree that they look awesome. The thing why I don’t want to have them in the game is, that they literally scream “Gothic Platemail”. That’s just a line I don’t dare to cross for the sake of the game’s atmosphere and visual coherency.

Yeah that would be cool indeed :) Can’t paint them all ;(
21. November 2018 at 11:49 #23394yorickshaParticipantAnd that new armor on the left brother! Haven’t seen it yet in blog posts. Looks like we can see more new stuff in game than what has been revealed so far, that’s cool!
21. November 2018 at 16:36 #23396EVANS UAParticipantIts fine Paul, im totally overhyped by your style and vision of the game look, armors, etc. By what we see so far you managed to make a unique world alone (painting i mean) and If you think so, ok, maybe sallets are out of the setting (but if you ask me, gothic style is more than a match for the grim game like Battle brothers). I hope that maaaybe someday you will have time to think about implementing something like sallet in the game, we dont ask to implement full gothic platemail sets, just the awesome and distinct helmet like sallet is (pros, the stats for sallet could be interesting considering lowered vision stat) Thanks for such an attention to community calls, bascinets are awesome and distinct as well! (Oh, and by the way, the picture you showed us is a “equipment of teutonic knight, XV century”)
21. November 2018 at 16:52 #23397SarissofoiParticipantBy the way any chance that we get some armors that are cheap and not fatigue efficient to have some heavier cheap armors that company can afford much earlier(kind of medium armors in protection but heavy in fatigue cost)?
Something like double gambesons or armors with silly round plate in the chest/stomach area? We have them in some sort in ancient evil/fallen heroes armors but nothing that player can buy from shops(cheap). They could be given to militia and bandits. Also any chance for restoration of ancient dead armors, helmets and weapons?
There are copper and linen in game, heck there are also not vampire dust to polish it. It should be possible to restore them in taxidermist shop(or in armorer/weaponsmith) to their former glory for all that ancient swag. The new armors and helmets look really fine. But that is no surprise.
21. November 2018 at 20:00 #23400ForceEchoParticipantI hate to spam questions as the thread is busy at the moment.
1. I was wondering, will there be any more “Legendary” gear, I won’t put spoilers in this thread but you know 2 armour sets (1 from location, 1 from event) + fangshire.
2. Will there be any new named armor sets? Like how a unique named set was added with lindwurm. Sorry for the questions but I love trying to collect all the gear haha. Also I’m happy with you sallet decision and the helmet you included looks great !

I think we haven’t shown it yet. It’s called Noble Mail and has a very good ar/fatigue ratio for late game nimble etc builds. This one is not a named armor, but can be bought in shops.
By the way any chance that we get some armors that are cheap and not fatigue efficient to have some heavier cheap armors that company can afford much earlier(kind of medium armors in protection but heavy in fatigue cost)?
I thought about that as well and it is a distinct possibility if we crate more content.
Also any chance for restoration of ancient dead armors, helmets and weapons?
Honestly I never thought about it. Interesting idea though. The armors would have to look more like a mix of ancient/medieval though to not throw off the overall look and setting too much.

I will only confirm what people found out by looking at the new achievements. There is a Legendary sword to be assembled.
2. Will there be any new named armor sets? Like how a unique named set was added with lindwurm. Sorry for the questions but I love trying to collect all the gear haha.
Unfortunately not, we focused on smoothing out the basic armor progression by adding 4 new armors and all armor upgrades can also be attached to named armors. So this way you can customize the look of your guys somehow.
There are two pieces of equipment craftable at the Taxidermist which almost count as named items, because they are pretty unique.24. November 2018 at 14:10 #23414TrappistParticipantWill there be and Helmet attachments via crafting? e.g. fur lining
Hey Trappist,
of course we discussed this. The problem is, that compared to armor, helmets have very distinct shapes. So if I paint an attachment overlay for a full helmet it would probably not fit on a kettle hat.
Painting each attachment for each helmet means a ton of work for me and we can’t deal with that at the moment.Maybe we find a clever solution someday.
Here is the ancient statue artwork from the last blog post in full resolution:
Hi Paul,
Just a thought on this, maybe only helmets with a full neckline could be flagged as suitable to be upgraded with craftables and others not.
This would include coifs and full helms for example but not Sallets. From what i can see they seem to have rather consistent neckline geometries.
Man i want that fur lining (because crossbow bolt to head).

Well I am sure that they will look fine as long as you make them.
Anyway I seen some streamers gameplay and I notice that inventory now is quite too small as there appear plenty of new items to collect – new potions, crafting resources, attachments and new one use items and they all are not stack-able.
It really become a problem even in short runs.
Can you consider increasing base inventory space or make ambition that increase inventory space repeatable(or both)?
Cheers27. November 2018 at 02:45 #23418AbelParticipantSarissofoi, from my understanding the new Ambition to further increase the inventory size (‘wagon’) is repeatable. I think Malros had the longest campaign among beta testers and if you check his videos you should see a very high number of slots.
Also, the base size of the inventory has been increased by 9 so there’s a little more room to accommodate for the new items in the early game.
