PsenBattleKeymaster
Hey there,
a sling was planned at some time but was dropped in favor of other stuff on my to do list.
I still like the idea though, we will probably introduce a sling of some sort whith the skeleton rework.Throwing weapons are okay for now, so I am focussing on the named items.
And I guess the goblins wont get any more poison for now :) Although we have to see how the injury system works out and after that we may adjust some things.PsenBattleKeymasterDo we get more bastard weapons similar to warbrand?
Like long spear or short pike?Definitely planned is hafted blade which will look like a warbrand on a stick.
Implementing more bastard weapons would be fun, as the warbrand is already my favorite weapon in the game. I’ll think about it!PsenBattleKeymasterAre we getting any normal non unique weapons?
Yes of course ;)
All of these will be part of the next bigger upate. From left to right:
Warbow (lategame bow), Light Crossbow (early game crossbow), Fighting Spear (lategame spear), Longaxe (polearm for 2nd row), Two handed Hammer.
PsenBattleKeymasterPsenBattleKeymasterit seems necessary to use this opportunity and to ask Paul to make as much as possible the unique double-edged axes – not historically, not practical… but it’s so beautiful )
I am in a pretty generous mood, so I might actually consider :) I did some research on the topic but the only historical double headed battle axes I found were from Indo Persian Origin and mostly 17 century or even later. Apparently there also were such axes in use as ceremonial weapons in ancient Greece.
Do you have any more reference for me? I would at least need some sort of historical example.
Heres an Indo Persian Axe from the 19th century:
Also, do you have any art available for unique weapons we might find yet? Such as unique two-handed weapons, etc.?
Yesterday I started working on named weapons for all the different categories. First off we have some spears and a rough version of some Billhooks.
The Billhook basic skill will be switched from “impale” to “strike” by the way. We did some balancing changes on all polearms, but more info on that will follow in a blog post.
Cheers!
Spears:
PsenBattleKeymasterI have a lot of Rus reference in my backlog, but am still holding back on that in case of a future expansion of the game.
At least that was my initial plan. By now I think it’s possible that some Rus gear may make it into the game in form of named items.
But – as always – I wont promise anything :)PsenBattleKeymasteri LOVE the way it looks without visor. Plox make some like that if possible at all. Id keep them on my frontline dudes no matter stats ?
Okay okay, you got me:
PsenBattleKeymasterdid you ever thought about a “legend” background … a very well craftet character!??
Of course :) It’s just not worth investing time in creating extremely rare backgrounds or characters that most players will never see. We would like to do that though, but its not realistic at the moment.
We also have a lot of contracts in our backlog and now that the UI is finished we will continue implementing them.
Is there an ETA on these being implemented, or is it an on the back burner, up in the air kind of thing, at this point?
We want to implement these with the next big update. That update will also include the injury system and the perk rework. That update will break savegames. ETA is roughly 6 weeks, but I can’t promise.
Cheers!
PsenBattleKeymasterPsenBattleKeymasterit did not replace the old heavy wolf armor from gang leaders, yes?
No, the old wolf armors are still in :)
By the way: when we implement the injury system you injured brothers (out of combat) will look something like this:
PsenBattleKeymasterRight now im digging through game files trying to figure out what id need to do to add items myself ?
We would love to make modding possible some way down the road.
Sadly in our special case its not that easy to just open certain sections of the code for modding. So we would either have to open up the whole code or nothing at all.We are still investigating and will keep you up to date on that topic!
PsenBattleKeymasterОчень круто!
Google tells me that this means something positive :)
Nevertheless please try to stick to Englisch language so that as many people as possible can understand, thanks!PsenBattleKeymasterPsenBattleKeymasteri could swear ive seen that pattern somewhere, i want to say Hungary.
The Pavise is also a bit out of period, but whatever, lets have some more visual variety. If I had the time I would add a million more :)
The red and white stripes give it a very “mercenary” feel. Its a pretty common look across various nations in the middle ages, especially eastern Europe.
Allthough the concrete inspiration in this case was the stripey theme of the “Dogs of War” Warhammer Fantasy faction.
Cheers!
