Okay we’ve got only one good hit apart from 9 lives. Thats the “switches place with another brother”.
I’ll give you a few:
The Shield expert enhaces the def bonus of your shield (second row, middle).
The muscular back is “colossus” which raises your hitpoints by a percentage.
Next to the cat are “Fortified mind” (resistance to skills attacking your morale) and “steel brow” (no damage multiplier when you get hit on the head). They are all pretty tough to guess, as some of them have rather complex effects :)
PsenBattleKeymasterPsenBattleKeymasterHey,
the injury system is something we planned right from the start. It’s no finished design, but as I imagine it will also “add” traits to characters when they get heavily wounded. For example guys loosing an eye, finger or even limbs (we dont have to change the bust for that haha). The other way round I can imagine adding traits for especially heroic deeds in combat, but thats far into the future….
Cheers
PsenBattleKeymasterHehe, honestly for some traits it was really difficult to find Icons.
The blurred Goblin is “Short sighted” :)
The peace sign is actually supposed to symbolize “swearing and oath” and is for “loyal”. The opposite is the crossed fingers for “disloyal”.
The broken Plate is “clumsy”
The salt is supposed to be rice and stands for “spartan” (this character consumes less food). the opposte is the big steak for “glutton” (this character consumes more food).Cheers!

thanks for your idea jam :)
There are some quite interesting ones among them. To be honest the wardogs are already designed and ready to go as soon as I have time to paint the graphics. They’ll be used mostly by bandits, so that they sport some unique units which makes fighting them more interesting.
Some kind of Beastmen faction is actually my personal favorite to add to the game. Unfortunately we first to have to fill all the tiny gaps in our game before we can add more fun stuff :)
It’s actually more difficult to decide what NOT to implement than finding ideas to implement :)
Cheers!
PsenBattleKeymasterHi Oga,
sounds like a really fun idea. Something a bit similar would be our “graveyard” tab where you could see all the dead Battle Brothers together with some statistics on their deeds. It’s not implemented yet, but I like the idea of some more tasty texts in there. Maybe we’ll figure out a mechanism which automatically puts together a few words depending on how long the brother lived, whom he killed, whether he fled or not etc…. similar to our dynamically generated background stories and nicknames.Cheers!
12. February 2015 at 15:12 in reply to: Suggestions for how to make perfection even more perfect #1575PsenBattleKeymasterHi Toni,
here’s my two cents on the issues you mentioned:1) Hell yeah. I want as many weapons as possible in there. Actually most of the weapons you mentioned are already part of our game design, we just didn’t create the assets yet. Two-handed flails, two-handed hammers, throwing axes, pitchforks… you name it :) Along with a wide variety of obscure historical weapons it’ll all get in eventually. It’s really a pity we have to concentrate on the most important things as time is extremely limited at the moment. A nice point of reference for the variety I’d like to have is the Mount and Blade mod 1247AD. On top of these weapons there will be the legendaries of course.
2) We discussed that internally a few times already and maybe it will come back up again when we think it would be a nice addition :) Right now it’s a bit off the radar.
Cheers
PaulPsenBattleKeymasterHi Anumen,
the snowy norse region would be the first thing I personally would like to tackle as early as possible. I’m an absolute sucker for Viking stuff :)
To separate it from our classical gear I would go into the “Rus” Viking style of Russia and Belarus.
If we are successful there will be expansions with all the big cultural settings and just like you mentioned that would include new enemy factions as well :)PsenBattleKeymasterHey Adrenor,
everytime I draw something new I start by searching the internet for reference pictures. This applies not only to medieval buildings and clothing but also to environments, color themes, lighting setups or perspectives (and especially character poses!!).
The more reference you use and the more pictures you paint you will eventually build up a “reference library” in your head :)PsenBattleKeymasterYes, thats absolutely snow! :)
Unfortunately I still have to paint all those environments in the tactical combat. So still quite a bit of work to do. But we are working full speed ahead on this! It will have an awesome impact on the whole atmosphere.PsenBattleKeymaster -
