ParticipantRealism should never come in the way of gameplay. As long as the flow of the game is good, not getting tedious with unnecessary burdens there is no problem. I can understand that you like as close to reality medival combat as possible, long tiring battles etc, but I sure don’t. The current lenght of battles witht this system is fine, the armor scaling does it’s job with the current settings with aviability, cost, compared durability, etc.
Yes I’d definetely would check your mod for the armor, but highly doubt that I would do more than few battles.
That archer clip while looks good, is a non usual stunt at this time of age. And realy shouldn’t be a guidline to medieval army regulated archery.
I won’t say some balancing shouldn’t happen, but that’s different from re-doing the whole system, like you propose to do.
Exaclty. While there could be done tweaks to have more difference between armors, a full re-do should not be happening.

ParticipantAgree, usually it is silly to chase the last archer or two. But sometimes they do tend to kill off a pursuing brother. I’m all for shorten the chase.

ParticipantThe first band was made at the very start of EA, in a world pretty dense. It was a beggar army, the lowest possible cost guys on the market. Avoided orcs and went for bandits and especially undead. As the core leveled up started to explore and raid everything. Never depended on any npc force but tried to help then when could. It was a very fast rise in resources equipment. Became a test party since have resources to last over a game year. It was a full on assault group rushing any enemy.(normal)
The band I started with the .38 update had a very very nice world generated, very spread out with a road ring. This party is basicly the survival of the fittest kind, my casualty counter already broke. At day 26 have more times the casualties than the test band above. With this I tend to focus on missions but since everything is so spread out it’s way harder to manage the resources. The feel of the game is much better than it was before. So far my plan is to stay alive and reach a stability in management. So far it’s the try and keep alive few core members till they level up while the others can and are sacraficed to reach the goal.(hard)

ParticipantWell, then let me ask you if you know about the ctrl key in battle that swaps the up n down?

ParticipantSorry 5 of 151. Still awesome.

ParticipantThere is a somewhat problem with stats as you said, but it might be solved by introducing new or changing current perks to have a stat dependency as few of them already do.
Now about that misclick on level up. I agree there could be a function to be able to reverse last pick, but it would have to save the result temporarely so you can not abuse this to reroll high stats.

ParticipantCongrats Overhype as for today there are only 3 negative reviews on steam. Out of 151. Keep it up and it’s a win ;)

Participant1 – Well that a thing for sure.
2 – There is a prompt when you press the retreat icon on the battle screen that explains about being on the edge of the map and such. Now if you retreat from the “Esc” menu then there is none. Just noticed myself, and this is if not a bug then a small error.
3 – Devs already said there will be speed differences. A system somewhat like M&B has.
4 – Now this is a rare thing to me and did not manage to catch how and why it occurs, might have to do with video drivers but still looking for it. Had it yesterday a heavy one. The same game client run for full day on pause while was doing other things sometimes jumping back for a battle. In the evening the heavy UI delay kicked in inside the battle. It was time to go home so didn’t care much.

ParticipantVII) Retreat
When you press the retreat icon on the battlefield ui it does promt you about the safe retreat from map edges and consiquences. When you go to “Esc” menu and do the retreat there, it retreats without a promt or a confirmation window.Sky
ParticipantIt is the beginning of early access and there are plans for lots of more. Consider what you see a platform to build on. When the devs reveal the roadmap we will see what they going for.
Sky
ParticipantHehe. All you need is to be in range of both enemy and friendly army to draw them both in the fight. That way you always start wall to wall. If the enemy manages to attack first then you start in the corner, probably a punishment.
Sky
ParticipantPerhaps there is somthing to consider nerfing a bit. I still did not have time to test this out.
