RusBearParticipantNew moral check system( v 0.9 and later) – not ready for realesed game- that is fact. Yes, devs have maked so that players must spent level up points for resolve. . But same time make some backgrounds and traits “dead” for game. If it is all that they want – well, that’s ok. But is it working and looks like good? Not.
RusBearParticipantSo, since you have announced version 1.1, I leave here a collection of highlights that a lot of players would like to see in the game, but did not get it in the release. Hope this will be useful.
1. Detailed battle log with all chances, rolls and perks influencing the change of these chances. With information exactly who caused how much damage to which enemy and what damage is blocked by armor how much damage passed through. Let it be optional. Many players would like to know the % with which the enemy hits you or dodges and all the rolls for damage and hits. I think this log would remove at least half of the crazy posts in the Steam about the conspiracy of developers and RNG.
2. Revision of the system of morals checking in battle. The influence of the level, seniority and killed enemies on these checks. Very much not happy that a 30 th level veteran who killed 2000 enemies can also be randomly scared by a suitable thug. It’s just not solid.
3. Revision of the aura and perk of the sergeant. The ability to improve the original standard as a weapon (perhaps one more ambition for an upgrade). Make the sergeant and standard at least useful in the middle and late stages of the game.
4. Change the mechanics of the puncture. Disable for use this blow if the actual chances are below 5%.I also leave a link to an excellent collection of detailed suggestions in the style of “improving the life” of another forum member
RusBearParticipantyou forget that before rise sw brigant got some hits in shield or dodge- that mean he must loose some fatigue. So EVEN ALL brigants have iron lung, he can’t has 20 fatigue for rise sw
RusBearParticipantSorry, Christof, but after such things usual people can have some “questions” about tactic and rng in this game )
RusBearParticipantif a simple t1 goblin has 25 base ranged def, why do you think that poacher can’t have 100 ranged skill? )
Real, Rap, just give us good , detailed battle log with all the rolls and chances for enemies – and many questions and indignation if it does not disappear, then at least becomes an agrumented.
RusBearParticipantI’ve done some further testing and can now confirm that if you have one of your brothers standing in front of the intended target of a ranged attack and the shot decides to hit the blocker instead of the intended target then the ranged defense of the brother actually being hit IS COMPLETELY IGNORED.
I tested this by using cheat engine to make a brother that has 1,000 melee defense and 1,000 ranged defense and replaying a fight against an army consisting solely of archers/crossbowmen several times. When standing or fighting by himself, the super brother was not hit a single time despite standing there and allowing the enemies to shoot at him endlessly. I did the fight 5 times, went to round 10 each fight and then retreated and reloaded the save, and he wasn’t hit a single time. I then played the fight 5 times over again, 10 rounds each, with a naked brother standing behind him (to draw their fire since they love shooting at low-defense characters), and he was hit 17 times. None of these shots hit the shield, they all hit the actual brother and he died in all but one of the tests (He was wearing special named armor and helmet as well).
Seems pretty conclusive to me. If your brothers are standing next to each other you’re completely at the mercy of the enemy crossbowmen. Just pray that their AI wigs out and they just run around for the entire fight instead of actually shooting. Not a fan of this situation to be honest. Fighting a caravan with 2 crossbowmen is scarier than fighting orc warriors and warlords. At least the orcs can’t kill one of my brothers before I even start my first turn. The only way to stop this is to get my initiative high enough that I move before the crossbowmen, but that’s not really feasible without the rest of the noble army tearing me to pieces.. especially since the noble armies are allowed to be a lot larger than your company. As it stands, fighting the noble armies is ‘easy’ in that I’ll always win the battle, but it’s dangerous in that there’s a chance one of my brothers will just die in one turn. If a brother doesn’t die, I usually take 0 hp damage, just some minor armor scratches, but if the RNG gods find me unworthy, the crossbows will just insta-snipe a brother and I’m out of luck.
Side note: On the topic of shields, you only get the ‘shield hit’ if the attack would’ve hit your brother without the shield’s extra defense bonus, and it does 1 damage to the shield no matter what weapon is used, as far as I can tell.
RusBearParticipantPaul, please, fix the main game logo. “A turn based tactical rpg” for “RNG”. Only 1 letter but how many questions and topics in steam it can help to avoid. In addition, it will be fair, since that’s how veterans feel this game after 0.9 and the subsequent sudden release…
Are you Paul? Please don’t try to speak for others
RusBearParticipantAnnouncing DLC with the polished battle morale mechanics, non-combat characters, craft and tree perks for the group as whole( perks for renown)-and take my money on this DLC EA right now )
RusBearParticipantThanks for the big work done, many normal comments and suggestions, but many suggestions for perks look absolutely broken present fragile balance
RusBearParticipantYes.Hp is not only HP. Hp is still a check for loss of morale from the damage, hp is a check for injury so hp works better indirectly than just meat shield )
RusBearParticipant+1
RusBearParticipantI personally think that in the release version the enemy is weaker in composition and in quantity than it was in the first beta patch 0.9 and even 0.7. This is apparently a special step to reduce the shock for new players.
In general, on subject, yes, we should say to devs “well done” – their thesis that you have to “lose some men” and they do everything that this thesis would work )
RusBearParticipantI would like to add this.
If sales will be successful, please do not rush to make new content, horses, sisters and legs… The battle morale mechanics and crises are still extremely weak. I’m sure you can much better.25. March 2017 at 23:25 in reply to: The impatient trait, not only in the first round but every turn. #20862
RusBearParticipantthis trait works round 1 and 2
RusBearParticipantAI can “miss” and kill…
1. brother who out of range
2. hiden in bush 1 hp brother
3. 2 hit by magical 5 % in head at nigth when his real % is “minus” -
