DanubianParticipantNew items all look great, even though they dont really fit into my strategy. The 1 handed spear in particular seems very very pricey for what it offers. It costs like military grade weapon, but doesnt really match their power, mixed feelings.
But hey. its definitely a step in right direction. We need more content, even more items and specially more enemy variations (different types of enemies within same factions).
DanubianParticipantI really hope modding support will come up in your priority list some time soon, as i have a very strong urge to mod this game :D
DanubianParticipantAre we getting any normal non unique weapons?
DanubianParticipantYeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey more weapons, cant wait!
DanubianParticipanti LOVE the way it looks without visor. Plox make some like that if possible at all. Id keep them on my frontline dudes no matter stats

Okay okay, you got me:

it seems necessary to use this opportunity and to ask Paul to make as much as possible the unique double-edged axes – not historically, not practical… but it’s so beautiful )
Imagine charging into a group of zombies carrying such an axe shouting “zaaaaaaaaa rodinu!111oneoneeleven”.
Glorious.
Or…
Even better…

DanubianParticipantSariss, I’m pretty sure Danubian meant we should change the color of the “glow” to be blue or green. And I agree with Danubian: that’d make the rares a lot easier to see. Although… a yellow would be perfectly fine as well, but the right shade of yellow would need to be found to make it stand out.
Also, you know how food items have a color that tells you when they’ll go bad? That needs to be changed somehow. As of now, if the right food is in the right stage of spoiling, you can barely – or not at all – read the amount of provisions you have for that specific food item. Perhaps if a little black box were put in the bottom-left corner of items and the number of the item / price of the item were displayed there? Or a semi-transparent black box?
Yup thats what i meant.
DanubianParticipantYup some eastern flavored named items would be cool. In particular byzantine (lots of scales on armors and helmets and pointy helmets) and Russian (a mix of chainmail and scale and lamellar with plenty of colors, should also break the “metal” feel of armors you spoke of earlier).
But in any case im sure you know what works the best. No pressure, just throwing random ideas at you :)

Okay okay, you got me:

Awesome.
Now, if youre looking for more inspiration, whats really lacking in game right now are helmets inspired by those in the east, specially Rus’ stuff.
This was a quite common helmet:

And some other that i think are heavily influenced by Viking style:

This is druzhina (since they are all mounted this is later, like i dunno 13th 14th century, before that they would mostly be on foot):

The reason why i love Russian gear is because they are a beautiful mix of everything; you have chain mails from the vikings as the basic gear, you have lamellar items from the steppe (Mongols, steppe nomads etc) and you have scale armors (i believe from Byzantium). And all of it can be quite colorful.
This is called kolovrat and was on Slavic shields very early on (like first millenia ad) if you add any Slavic/eastern gear it should be on shield(s):

Note however i believe it is considered a swastika of sorts, so there could be political stuff, i dunno. I think you guys are German and i know Germany has some laws against Nazi swastika, if this also falls into that category plox delete it.
DanubianParticipantThe Heraldic mail helmet is actually a Bascinet, but with a visor. I decided to take some more liberty with the named helmets, so I’m not that strict on time period with these….

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn i LOVE the way it looks without visor. Plox make some like that if possible at all. Id keep them on my frontline dudes no matter stats :D
DanubianParticipantAny chance we can get some sallet helmets?
I absolutely adore open salletes, although i think i the full closed one might be out of time frame (by like couple of centuries).
Im talking about something like this:

^they just look amazing with chainmail
Or a bascinet

DanubianParticipantWonderful. I really like all those armors.
Right now im digging through game files trying to figure out what id need to do to add items myself :D
Edit: yeah ok that wont be so easy. Stupid .cnut.
DanubianParticipantThe red one, thats a pavise shield right? Beautiful, i could swear ive seen that pattern somewhere, i want to say Hungary.
DanubianParticipantAlso is it just me, or do you guys also feel the a theme in some (many?) of the recently shown items? I sense a strong influence of like late antiquity in some helmets (from like dawn of rome and ancient greece even) and shields? For example in that pic above the 3rd shield looks a lot like bronze aspis or hoplon to me.
This is specially present in occasional screenies of skeleton rework, they remind me a lot of what i imagine Thracian and Scythian gear looked like?
DanubianParticipantMaybe they cant figure out what is it thats causing it? Or it has low priority.
DanubianParticipant:D
